ParticipantIt seems this plugin in now working correctly as the link after a post to “Leave a reply” does not bring up the right page. WordPress web site suggests the plugin is no longer updated.
What is the status?

ModeratorWhen I open a post, I do not have a “leave a reply” link, I have a Comment section below the post, with a Box to type my reply and a button to “Post Comment”
So I am not sure what you are referring to
Please provide a link to the post page.

ModeratorFirst there is the “continue Reading” That link opens the single post page which appears to work.
If once on the single post page there is no comment section with a box to type your reply, this is likely because comments have been disabled.
Either in the post editing page with the “Allow Comment” box not being checked, or in the global WP Settings > Discussion > “Allow people to submit comments”
And I am not sure where your bottom meta info “leave a reply” comes from as it is not standard.
Did you create Custom Meta Info lines?August 8, 2022 at 20:11 UTC - Views: 42 #71046bobjgarrett
ParticipantThe link which brings up the post on its own is definitely entitled “Leave a reply” and not “continue reading”. And that new page with just that post has not option to reply.
This did once work as earlier posts have replies against them.
In settings “Allow people to submit comments on new posts” is ticked.
For that particular post “Allow comments” is ticked.
What else might I check?
Thanks

ModeratorThe first image you posted, which I assume is from the blog page with all the posts, does show “continue reading”
The second which I assume is the single post page, is the one that should have a comment area if the comments are enabled. It also has a Leave a reply as a link in the bottom post info lines which is unusual.
First I would clear all caches, then try to deactivate ALL non weaver plugins to make sure something is not interfering. If that fixes it, reactivate one by one to find the culprit.
Also post here the content of the system info box in the help page so we can make sure you have all the latest versions of everything.
ALso make sure you are not running an optimization plugin (for js and CSS), these usually break the theme

ParticipantThanks for your response, further testing seems to suggest it is the theme causing the problem. I am awaiting their response.

ModeratorOh, I did not realize you are not using the Weaver Xtreme Theme….
If that is the case, you may also want to try and play with the option in Weaver Post & SLider options > Filters TAB > Native Theme Support (try it ON or OFF)

ParticipantSorry to mislead you, no I am not using that theme but one called Corporacy. I am awaiting their reponse.

ModeratorStill try the option I mentioned 🙂

ParticipantUnder this option it says:
Sorry, your theme does not seem to have native support for displaying posts from this plugin. You can add custom CSS rules on the “Style” tab to make posts better match your current theme.

KeymasterShow Posts is a fairly old plugin and uses coding techniques that may not work with every theme, especially newer ones.
For sure, the plugin is unlikely to work on the WP default home blog page. It could even have problems with Gutenberg blocks.
WordPress has changed so much in the past 2 or 3 years, and the whole “backwards compataibility” is not necessarily working properly with new themes.
So this may be a lost cause.
