    Hi all,

    Thank you in advance for help.

    I’m migrating my site (https://markstefik.com) from Weaver II (Bruce Wampler) to Weaver Xtreme because Weaver II isn’t compatible with PHP 8.1, and I need to move off PHP 7.4 for security reasons. So far, the migration itself has gone fine, but I’m stuck on menu behavior. For now, the web site is set to the old Weaver and PHP 7.4.33.

    The problem:
    In Weaver II, my top menu bar showed only the top-level menu items, and clicking/hovering on a top-level item revealed its sub-items in a dropdown. When I switch to Weaver Xtreme, the Primary Menu now displays every item at every level all at once — it’s become one giant expanded menu instead of a clean top-level bar with dropdowns.

    What I’ve checked so far:

    • I confirmed in Appearance → Menus that my sub-pages are correctly nested/indented under their parent items (not flattened).
    • I haven’t installed the “Weaver Xtreme Theme Support” plugin for the Legacy Admin panel — should I be doing this, or is there a more direct way to access Primary Menu style settings from the Customizer?

    My setup:

    • WordPress version: [7.0.2]
    • Weaver Xtreme version: [6.7]. (uninstalled because of the menu issue.)
    • PHP version: currently 7.4.33 (planning to upgrade to 8.1 once the theme migration is confirmed stable)
    • Host: Bluehost

    What I’m trying to achieve:
    A simple horizontal top menu bar showing only top-level items, with sub-items appearing via hover or click (either is fine) — basically the standard Weaver II-style dropdown behavior.

    Any pointers on exactly where to find the primary menu style/submenu behavior setting.

    This most likely comes from the fact as when you changed theme WordPress lost the allocation of the custom menus to a the xtreme primary or secondary menu. As a result you get the default WordPress menu with everything.

    Go to Appearance > Menus

    Verif that your custom menus are there

    And in menu settings at the bottom make sure each of them is allocated to primary or secondary menu

    Thank you.  That fixed the menu problem.  I now have the site running on Weaver Xtreme.
