In Post Google Map component when GPS meta in image

We (were) using a stale plugin that read the GPS lat/lon meta data in a media image file presented in a post, where the post was enhanced to provide a view of the Google Map location for the GPS data.

The plugin suddenly stopped working on the site.  The plugin hasn’t been maintained for awhile.  It uses the Google Map API.  It’s very useful.

I can get it to work again, but in a new, bare WP site.

If anyone could build a great implementation for a photo blog of this type of plugin you guys can.
