My personal blog at https://lerner.net is set up basically the way I want.

I would like to set up this other blog I haven’t used for a couple years the same way. It’s at https://unitednewsreports.com.

What I’m trying to do now is get the headers/menus the same. At my personal blog it just has the site title (and tagline) above the site image. And right below that there is a bar with a menu (subscribe, some categories, etc.).

But at unitednewsreports.com the menu with subscribe is above the site image. How do I move it below the site image and also set the items in that menu?

Also, how do I update the footer?

    Thanks,

    doug

    @douglerner

Have you tried simply copying in the Theme Setting from Site 1 into Site 2 ?
(If as you say, they are basically the same.)

Before you do, be sure to backup the Theme Settings from Site 2, in case you need to reinstall those settings.

You will find this feature in: Appearance > Weaver Xtreme Admin> Save/Restore tab.

    Regards.

@hkp is right, if you want the same style, save all settings on the site you like and load them on the other one.

Otherwise, you just need to explore the theme settings, it is all there.

For the menu position, on the second site, it is using the fixed menu on top option change that to not fixed.

Nor sure what you mean by how do I update the footer….

If you mean its content, go to WordPress widget areas.

If you mean the layout. Right now in the theme options it is set to 4 columns which is why it is all on the left. If you will only use a single widget, change that to one column.

Thank you all for all your help!

I decided to use scrambler’s suggestion for now: “For the menu position, on the second site, it is using the fixed menu on top option change that to not fixed.” I found the same setting on my personal site and adjusted the position and alignment accordingly.

I think I’d like to get rid of that extra heading/menu (whatever you call it) under the repositioned menu that currently just says “home” and then a bunch of links to go on to previous pages. The main image goes to home, and I think that’s probably enough.

    What is that menu called?

I will also look into theme saving/restore. It seems an additional plugin is required for that.

    Thanks!

The bar under the menu is the Info bar.

Setting to configure it or hide it completely are found with the menu settings under info bar section

I am not sure what you mean by

“I will also look into theme saving/restore. It seems an additional plugin is required for that.”

Saving and restoring setting is part of the theme options

Thanks. That worked. Is there a diagram somewhere showing what the different sections are called? 🙂

Regarding the save/restore: In Weaver Xtreme 5.0.7 Options > if I click on Save/Restore tab it says:

Please install the Weaver Xtreme Theme Support plugin to enable Legacy Save/Restore.
The legacy Weaver Xtreme Theme Support Plugin provides the full set of theme Save/Restore options. Please open the Appearance → Recommended Plugins menu or go to WordPress.com to install this plugin.

I thought you referred to an outside plugin sorry.

Yes you should have the weaver Xtreme theme support plugin installed, that is a given when you use Xtreme 🙂

There is a guide (link in the sidebar of this site) with a lot of articles.

Below is the one on layout and insertion areas
