We love helping you here on the Weaver Xtreme Support Forum. We almost always can help with your issues. But I realize we aren’t always able to respond to questions and issues immediately – and you’d probably like an answer right now!
Turns out, that most AIs seem to know a lot about WordPress, and specifically including Weaver Xtreme. So, if you’d like to see if you can get an instant answer, often with very specific answers and even specific options to use or custom CSS to add, try an AI.
Start your prompt to the AI with something like: “I have a WordPress self-hosted site using the Weaver Xtreme theme. I would like to …”. Describe your problem. You are likely to be surprised at what a good answer the AI can produce.
The AIs also seem to know about most WP Plugins,. If your issues include plugins or interaction between a plugin and Weaver Xtreme, an AI can prove very helpful.
I just tried using an AI (ChatGPT specifically) with that specific prompt plus a simple problem. I got a very complete answer, including a specific CSS code snippet, and how to add it to the Weaver Xtreme Custom CSS, option. It also described an alternative method using Weaver Xtreme per-page options. The response included the CSS code example, and very clearly stated how-to instructions.
I’m not trying to stop or discourage using this forum. As I said, I know for sure our moderators really love helping and solving your problems. But as a volunteer group, we can’t monitor the forum 24/7. So, if you need an answer ASAP, try using almost any AI. If it can supply an answer, you’re on your way. If you can’t get a good answer, then we are here and happy to help.
And it would be interesting to hear from you if you do get the answers you needed by using an AI.

One key element is that AI is now successfully participating in creating the code of its next generation, which will inevitably start creating improvements at exponential speed.
Beside the used for evil risk, one worrisome aspect is the fact there is so little discussion on what could be the new economic model when 20% of the people will loose their job, especially as they will be from the upper middle class, and are therefore are the core consumers…

I understand that everybody is looking for a quick fix when it comes to the need for answers, but as far as I am personally concerned, my primary loyalty for looking for information, bug fixes, and answers for my Weaver sites will always be out of my loyalty to you and all the volunteers who have worked so hard over many years solving problems that were sometimes above and beyond their scope.
You have created a wonderful product for WordPress that has been loved throughout the years and I will never forget that. I don’t think I have ever encountered better quality support and I really mean that. You have been so professional and helpful over the years and I have always felt comfortable coming to this forum for help.
We don’t know what the future holds as far as AI, but for me, if I have an issue on one of my sites, I would prefer to come to this forum first and use AI as a possible second opinion, unless it was an emergency and you weren’t available.
I wish WordPress gave out awards for best technical support because I really feel that you deserve one.

I just did this using Gemini because it sees the page I’m referring to, and it made the usual suggestions like deactivating your plugins one by one (we all know this is the biggest cause with wordpress issues).
I had a mobile issue that my links to my pod stripped everything after the dot com, so people would only go to my art gallery home page and not the collection or individual piece of art… (my preferred landing spot). Site Kit seems to be the plugin causing the issue, but…
I did notice that the Weaver Xtreme Theme Support plugin is about 2 years old, and wondered if the plugin is going to be updated?

As Weaver mentioned in a recent post, the Xtreme theme is being updated to make it more Block friendly, and in that exercise I’m sure the support plugin will be updated too.

There will be new versions of the theme, the support plugin, and the plus plugin within a few weeks. The code is being completely refactored, and is considerably smaller. Will add new features for the Block Editor as well.
While Block Themes need the block editor, classic themes can use either editor, and Weaver supports the block editor pretty well, but most of the shortcodes supported by the theme support plugin will also become Blocks for the block editor.
I have been using Weaver Xtreme and its predecessor for many years now. Then came the block editor. I tried to use it over the years quite some times. But I always returned to Weaver, because it is so easy to use and easy to get the look I need for my projects. I tried site builders as well. Doesn’t work for me.
So I am happy to see that Weaver will get updates.
On topic of AI: I also got good help from AI with code related questions. And that is probably good news for Mr. Weaver as well, as he can spend more time on keeping Weaver up to date.

I’ve found the Block Editor useful for some page designs. Weaver Xtreme does know about the Block Editor, and in most cases does a very good job of displaying the actual colors, etc. when used with the Block Editor for pages or posts. It is not as good with the Block Editor as the Classic Editor, but it is still very good.
There very few other Classic Themes that will match their theme’s styling when in the editor, Block or Classic. Weaver Xtreme has always been on the cutting edge of matching the styling produced with its options in both final display and in the editor. That in some ways has not really been recognized.
I’ve had some serious computer issues the past couple of weeks, so I’ve fallen a bit behind on the new versions. I hope new releases within a few weeks. Will probably announce a beta release on the forum for some testing, but so far I’ve not been able to find any differences from the existing version, and the updated version which is about 20% smaller which should make it a bit faster – not that is much of an issue any more.
I use Weaver Xtreme plus on 9 sites and wouldn’t trade it for anything. I also use ChatGPT for quick answers and I’ve found it does know Weaver and WordPress, in fact it’s helped me write 2 custom plugins that I need for a client that worked perfectly with the Weaver theme.
I look forward to the updates, it means the best will be getting better.
I use ChatGPT all the time although it doesn’t always give me the complete answer and I end up using the forum instead …
Several months ago I tried ChatGPT to update a not working and abandoned legacy plugin and it said the JS was not working. But after 3 ‘new’ versions and no success, I gave up.
Then last week after reading that Claude AI was the best AI for software, I wrote a single line request to Claude and it told me the JS was not the issue, and gave me an updated version with better code, all within less than 15 seconds.
It did not work initially, but after three rounds of answering detailed questions, it determined that the issue was with my cache plugin and the way WP now processes saved files. So it wrote a solution and all works again.
The total time for an updated plugin was measured in just minutes. Also, it explained exactly what it was doing and had done, and why, and even gave alternative choices.
Personally I’d suggest Claude AI for software issues.
