    My site is on line from 2016 with WordPress 4.8.5 and Weaver II Pro 2.2.4 theme (with a child theme).

    Since the beginnig I successfully put in the header the widget “Metaslider” (free version from https://www.metaslider.com).

    But today the site shows at the top the string “Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘.’ in /home/mhd-01/www.dirittomedicinasport.it/htdocs/wp-content/themes/weaver-ii-pro/includes/pro/lib-runtime-pro.php(366) : eval()’d code on line 1“.

    Weaver message is: “ERROR: You have added widgets for the Header Horizontal Widget Area, but have not properly defined widths for the widgets in that area. (Main Options:Header:Header Widget Area Widgets:Widths)“.

    I’ve tried various widths without any result: please help (yes, I should move to X-treme, but I’m not a professional and not only I’m scared, but really have no time for).
    Thank You in advance

    That error is caused by some custom PHP code you have added using the PHP code option. It has nothing to do with the theme, but represents invalid PHP code you have added.

    Thank You for Your help !
    I’m totally ignorant about PHP and I’ve added some custom code obtained by previous forum instructions, but more than one year ago and everything has gone perfectly, even after WordPress 4.8.5 and plugins update some months before the error message (no other updates since then: neither WP nor plugins except Metaslider after the error message).
    What can I do to solve the problem? (please see http://www.dirittomedicinasport.it)

    This is all the code I’ve added:

    Slider Menu – Slider 1 (Note: is selected a simple custom menu)
    CSS for Menu Text:

    Please read my reply again. You have added some custom PHP. (And apparently some custom CSS, but that is not the same.)

    Go to Appearance -> Weaver II Pro Admin -> Advanced Options -> <HEAD> Section -> Actions and Filters (at the bottom).

    You will almost certainly find some text in that box, which must be valid PHP code. If you don’t know how to fix it (it might even be something you added to work with some plugin), it is probably best to simply delete it (after making a copy to perhaps re-try later).

    There is some chance you have two issues, but it is most likely the PHP is the real issue.

    I don’t know how to thank You!!!
    In my report I miss to include exactly the PHP code in “Actions and Filters”, as follows:

    .home div.art-headerobject {
    display none;
    }

    Of course You centered the point while I was imprecise. Sorry
    Thank You again

    Well, if you had that code in the Actions and Filters, it would for sure crash. That code is CSS, not PHP. You probably want it in the Custom CSS, and not in the Actions and Filters.

    Thank You again, I was really worried but your providential help solved the problem.
    Certainly is curious for me that, before insurgence, everything has gone well for more than one year since the implicated code adding and for about five months since WP and plugins update, but I accept that coding is beyond my possibilities
    I’m very very grateful for Your help

    Sorry, I’m here again because after removing wrongly added PHP code, in the site header disappeared widget Metaslider (which I put in “Header Horizontal Widget Area”).
    The same with Soliloquy Lite and Masterslider (every test after disabling previous plugin).
    Can You help me?
    Thanks

    This reply has been accepted as the best answer.

    Perhaps you deleted other PHP code that was needed to use those plugins. It is possible you inserted that incorrect CSS code into the PHP block ahead of some other PHP code used for those plugins.

    But you will probably need to follow the instructions for using those plugins to get them working again.

    But beyond the fact we’re not really supporting Weaver II any more, we never have provided significant support for other plugins. Sorry.
