ParticipantThanks Scrambler, we’ll wait and see if this is a font exception case.
I had another question regarding duplicating the top border of the footer from my WeaverII original site, to my Xtreme conversion staging website.
With the link that I provided in my previous post, would you be able to let me know what I need to add and where to create this top border? …I’ve tried all sorts of combinations and was not able to find anything relating to this in my WeaverII admin either…quite the mystery of how I created that in the past. Thanks in advance 🙂

KeymasterI have looked at both staging and old sites with Chrome, Firefox, and Brave. There is insignificant difference between both sites.
It is possible you are having some caching issues if you are seeing big font differences.
Note that the fonts used by Weaver II were handled quite differently than in Weaver Xtreme. Weaver II may have only supported standard web fonts, or if it had more, then they were loaded directly from Google. I really don’t remember back that far.
Weaver Xtreme now has many more font choices, and self hosts a set of Google Fonts.
But to my eyes, the staging and old sites look quite the same.

ModeratorRight now you have a CSS rule to create a uniform 1px solid border around the footer with
{border: 1px solid #E0C64D;}
On the weaver II site you have a top only thicker border with
{border-top: 4px solid #E0C64D;}
Also the border-radius is 8px instead of 10px on the weaver II site
The rounded radius is defined in Appearance > Xtreme Admin > Main Options > Fonts & Custom > Custom Options
or
Customizing ▸ Global Site Settings > Borders – Global Settings

ParticipantThank you Weaver for responding.
If I’m reading you correctly, when in a Firefox web browser, both the old WeaverII and the staging new Xtreme websites, look the same? both with a similar and decent, acceptable readable size font…. and the font size is similar throughout the 3 browsers?
Wow! that is certainly not what I’m seeing here on my desktop, so definitely an issue somewhere…the font size of my staging site content area in Firefox is smaller than the fonts I am typing here in this forum.
My old WeaverII website is all in Arial font, and the new Xtreme is in Inherit.
I’m gathering that you are not referring to my computer browser cache…that I clear multi times a day and did again before responding.
Where and how do I remedy these caching issues? I’m at a total loss here regarding anything to do with WordPress caching issues.
You input is invaluable as I have been driving myself crazy today for hours trying to figure out what I am seeing.

ParticipantThank you for responding Scrambler.
The rounded radius seems to be a Plus option in custom options which I don’t have.
In the appearance > footer area > I remove the tick in the border box and added {border-top: 4px solid #E0C64D;} to the footer BG CSS but didn’t work.
Unfortunately I don’t know how to formulate a CSS rules that would include all the information and know where to place it. I have not found any CSS rule in the WeaverII admin that refers to this top border for the footer 🙁

ModeratorI still see the overall border on the staging site. In order to get you the proper CSS, I need a link to the site with:
- The footer border option unchecked
- The footer round corner option unchecked
- The custom CSS Rule below placed in the Footer BG CSS+ Box
{border-top: 4px solid #E0C64D !important; border-radius: 10px !important;}

ParticipantMade the changes you mentioned.
- The footer border option unchecked
- The footer round corner option unchecked
- The custom CSS Rule below placed in the Footer BG CSS+ Box
{border-top: 4px solid #E0C64D !important; border-radius: 10px !important;}

ParticipantHello Weaver
I’ve finally had the opportunity to try my website on two other computers with Brave browser and the brave browser on my desktop is definitely a culprit…it actually breaks a particular page in both of my websites!!
You are definitely right there is very little difference between sites and browsers.
I can’t believe the amount of wasted time I’ve had and hogging your attention trying to resolve something that doesn’t seem to have anything to do with the website but a browser! I’m sorry about that.
So I am going to uninstall and re-install Brave browser and see what that does. I’ll report back on this.
I tried clearing the cache for the websites and that didn’t do anything.

ModeratorThe rule is not there, so either you did not clear the CSS + box, or you have a syntax error in one of the CSS+ box, or something is not working.
Remove the rule from the CSS + box and instead put the rule below in the Theme Global Custom CSS rule box
#colophon {border-top: 4px solid #E0C64D; border-radius: 10px;}
if that does not work add the !important
#colophon {border-top: 4px solid #E0C64D !important; border-radius: 10px !important;}

ParticipantThere were no errors in the syntax, I did a copy and paste…I’ve removed it as you said and added
#colophon {border-top: 4px solid #E0C64D; border-radius: 10px;} to the Theme Global Custom CSS and it works!!!
Seems like that is the only place that CSS works, just like the red content colour.
Thank you so much Scrambler, now it’s starting to look more like home 🙂
My next step is to un-install and re-install Brave browser on my desktop, it seems to be a culprit of some sort for a number of things.
Thanks again, your assistance is invaluable.
Oh I’m forgetting…is it safe to upgrade WordPress to 6.7.1 ?
I saw that 6.7 had many issues…I certainly don’t need to add more…I’m currently running WP 6.6.2

KeymasterI really don’t remember having any serious issues with any version of WP, and have all my sites set for auto-update. Weaver doesn’t have many dependencies on the latest versions of WP.

ParticipantThank you Weaver, I’ve done the WP update and no issues.
I’ve uninstalled Brave browser and re-installed it… there is no change on my desktop when viewing the following page.
I’ve now compared 6 different computer all running Linux OS except for 1 Mac.
This particular page in my website is showing rather broken on 4 out of 6 of these computers when viewed on Brave.
The table runs off the content area on the right and the fonts are much bigger than they should be +++
This same page shows correctly on all computers with Firefox browser and Chrome.
http://staging.clairelight.ca/flower-essences-list/
I’ve been checking Brave browser versions on these 6 computers and there is no consistency there either…the two computers (both Linux) where this page shows correctly, are running two different Brave versions 1.73.105 and 1.74.51. Same 2 versions where the page is viewed correctly.
I’ve cleared the NGINX cache in my Cpanel…Brave browser has been re-installed. I don’t know any other cache to clear…any suggestions at this point would be very appreciated.
The puzzle is rather discombobulating…especially when I’m thinking that I’m almost done with conversion to Xtreme.
Can I assume that this page is OK or something else is lurking in the background? there are definitely some oddities with this website as far as CSS placements.
Do you see this particular page correctly on Brave?

ParticipantI’ve added a GTranslate language plugin above the header on my http://staging.clairelight.ca/ website. EN FR
It works very well
…the issue is that there seems to be an additional one, on the very far right hand top corner in italic EN FR that I didn’t place there and cannot find for the life of me how to remove it.
Any assistance would be be very appreciated.
Thanks in advance

ModeratorThis is outside the wrapper in an area with the ID page-bottom, so not a weaver area as far as I know
this means you must have activated some option in the plugin that makes it do that. The plugin developer may be able to help

ModeratorA couple of questions if I may…..
- Did you use the
[gtranslate]shortcode to locate GTranslate, and if so, exactly where did you place the shortcode? - Is your GTranslate setting:
Wrapper selector CSS: .gtranslate_wrapperor do you something else than the default?
I’d like to replicate what you’ve done.
Okay, issue solved, I believe.
I can replicate that when I set: “Show floating language selector: Top Right ”
You don’t need to to have anything else selected.
Turning off that option to “No” ought to solve the issue.
Regards.

ParticipantHello Scrambler and User 🙂
As I was starting to remove the GTranslate plugin and remember seeing the word wrapper in your post last night Scrambler.
In the settings for the plugin I saw .gtranslate_wrapper in the CSS box. This was the issue.
I replaced it with the Global Custom CSS that I had to set it up for colour and font size for the plugin.
a.glink {color:#E0C64D!important;font-family:arial!important; font-size: 15px !important;}
and voila the extra EN FR outside the wrapper is gone. Yeah!
I have the plugin set as ‘Language code’ top right.
I’ve place the short code [gtranslate] in the header widget, with the header widget padding set at Bottom 44px, and top margin at -28px, aligned right in the header Main Options.
Thank you both for your insights 🙂
