ParticipantThank again Scrambler for trying to figure this mystery out.
I don’t have any optimized plugin in my list of installed plugins.
I’ve deleted the colours as you said in Appearance > Xtreme Admin > Main Options > Sidebar & Layout > Individual Widgets > Widget links color
Now the right colours are displaying in the footer. yeah!
But…
I’ve now lost the original link colour in the primary sidebar menu…it should be the same colour as the Lotus above it, more of a dark purple that is easier to read…now the link colour is the same as the hover colour. Hum

ModeratorSet the link color in the Wrapper area link settings.
But I am still worried your custom CSS is not working as that is going to be a serious limitation…

ParticipantI’ve set the wrapper colour and it fixed the sidebar menu…
…but now the link colours in the content areas have changed to match the sidebar…the links in the content area were two different colours of magenta to be very visible compared to the text in purple, now they are purple…so now links within text are not visible at a glance, so will get missed, much too uniform. I’ve left it this way for now.
It’s like playing wack a mole…
You’ve now got me worried about this custom CSS not working… I don’t remember having such issues when I first created the website with WeaverII…I’m feeling very dependent on you to move forward and that’s not going to work.
I’m not sure if I should be continuing right now with the per page changes of all these 117 pages, I’m 3/4 done with 14 different menus…
Can this CSS be fixed or am I doomed?

ModeratorThe theme has link settings for each area, so you need to adjust them all. In this case, you now need to set the content area link color.
The wrapper setting is the global one. Then each area can either inherit it, or set its own to override it.
For the CSS, let us make a test with the WordPress custom CSS box found in
Customizing ▸ Custom CSS > Additional CSS – WP Setting
Paste the rule below in it and see if the content text turns red. If it does, then we have a working place for custom CSS
#wrapper #content {color: red !important;}
If it does not work, leave the rule in and post back

ParticipantHi Scrambler.
I’ve put the content area link colour back and that works. At some point in a previous post it was removed as well as the hover colour which I haven’t yet replaced
I followed through with the red test and the red doesn’t seem to be everywhere. I’ve looked through a number of pages but not all. A few examples that might give you a clue?
It worked somewhat on this page http://staging.clairelight.ca/offerings-prior-to-2009/
One word only on the home page http://staging.clairelight.ca/
One line on this page http://staging.clairelight.ca/claire-light/
Almost completely on this page http://staging.clairelight.ca/symptoms-of-integration/
Worked completely on this page http://staging.clairelight.ca/lightwork/

ModeratorThis is fine. The reason it is not everywhere is because sometimes other CSS takes priority, but the rule is there when active.
SO this is good news
I still cannot read the CSS file it goes to in the browser developer tool
The CSS appears to be going in a location called offerings-prior-to-2009
For some reason it is no visible, so something in your configuration may be blocking its visibility.
Not a huge deal, but makes troubleshooting harder

ParticipantThanks again, I like the good part 🙂
The title of that page (offerings-prior-to-2009) is different than the permalink Services offered prior to 2009….I don’t think that is usually an issue?
There was short code for a slide show near the top of the page below the image, that evidently wasn’t working, I’ve removed it.
At the top of the page editor there was a logo button that read ‘edit with Seedprod‘ I deactivated the plugin (Coming Soon Page, Maintenance Mode, Landing Pages & WordPress Website Builder by SeedProd) which I don’t remember installing a decade ago, nor have I ever used to my memory.
Could that be the culprit???
I also tried to Bold and underline one line on that page (Important questions for you to contemplate) and updated the page and it is not showing as such…something else that could be amiss.
I’ve left the red up…maybe something has unblocked?
I can’t think of any other configuration to check regarding that page 🙁

ModeratorForget about the CSS not showing up in the developer tool, I have had it happened on my site (although not permanently), so I need to investigate why it does that sometimes…
So for now you are good on that front, I’ll post back if I find more
I also tried to Bold and underline one line on that page (Important questions for you to contemplate) and updated the page and it is not showing as such…something else that could be amiss.
What line , and how did you do it (what exact CSS and placed where?)

Moderator@weaver, can you think of why in the developer tool, when selecting an element with a Custom CSS rule, and when clicking on the CSS source that shows up on the right of the rule, the TAB it opens for that page CSS would be empty?

ParticipantHi Scrambler, I’ll leave the red content colouring up for now, in case it assists in finding more issues 🙂
I also tried to Bold and underline one line on that page (Important questions for you to contemplate) and updated the page and it is not showing as such…something else that could be amiss.
About half way down the page (offerings-prior-to-2009) just above the gold wings…
Today, I decided to remove the italic and add *** before and after the text all in bold, underlined and large text.
I just did it with the text editor
*** Important questions for you to contemplate ***
..Interestingly it shows up correctly on Firefox but not on Brave browser. Yet another mystery.
I’ve notice some rather large differences in visuals, especially in font size between Firefox and Brave browser… That’s for another day, I haven’t looked at fonts and font size correction yet.
Thanks again…I’ll get back to setting up the rest of the menus for now.

ModeratorIf I open the page source directly I can see it too. But if I open the developer tool and open the source from inspecting the elements then clicking on the source next to the CSS rule, then the source tab is empty.
Not a big deal, I was just wondering what can cause this disfunction in the developer tools
