Weaver AI Plugin???

I’ve recently learned something VERY interesting and EXCITING if it proves true.

You have by now likely seen that part of WordPress 7.0 includes some AI features. Mostly it seems like they will allow direct connection by themes and plugins to an AI like ChatGPT and some others.

So, a few weeks ago, out of curiosity, I asked an AI what it could tell me about WP and its AI plans. I got an interesting and not really unexpected answer – it will try to leverage AI to produce site designs using AI. And apparently the approaches they will be use will be based on the current Block architecture WP has been emphasizing the past few years.

This, of course, is a much different approach than Classic Themes. And, since you are here, you probably know how unique Weaver Xtreme is in terms of a Classic Theme. Lots and lots of options – each one very specific as to what it does. Hundreds of them. And this is also one of what is also a “problem” with Weaver Xtreme. It has a what could be considered an overwhelming user interface.

So, I asked the AI I usually use (and them several others), “How would the WP Blocks approach for site design compare to something like Weaver Xtreme, with hundreds of specific and explicit options?” Just out of curiosity. The answers I got, several of them, was a bit of a shock, and extremely exciting.

They essentially said:

Using an approach like Blocks is actually sort of fuzzy. There are all sorts of not completely explicit interactions. While an AI can help with this, this fuzzy approach is difficult for AIs to process, and often leads to hallucinations.

But, if you give an AI hundreds of explicit, semantically clear options, and a system where the theme handles the details such as final CSS. that is a different story. An AI could then produce designs that are not subject to hallucinations and other difficulties. A much better way.

Now, is that exciting or what?

So, I’m now working very hard to make this happen. The path will like be through a new premium plugin that will provide the interface between Weaver and your favorite AI. I hope to be done with six months or so. Could bring Weaver into the big times. Might even encourage WP to keep all the classic stuff around longer.
