Visual Editor is disabled and I did not check it.

New problem.  I see the option to disable Visual Editor, however, I did
not check this.  Yet, the Visual Editor is disabled.  My client will be
maintaining the website after I have finished it and she would prefer
not to use code.  Is it possible that one of my plugins has disabled the
Visual Editor?  (Using Weaver Xtreme with WordPress 4.2.2,  http://rubyreusable.com/artblog/)

What page template are you using? are some disable it.

Also did you check the option “Allow Raw HTML and Script” as this would also disable it?

If not disable ALL non weaver plugin to see if one is interfering

All the pages of the website have the Visual Editor disabled.  I did not check Allow Raw Html.

I will see about disabling the non Weaver plugins.  There are only 3.

Try to redo the last wordpress update in the Dashboard > Update page

This seems to be a known, but unusual WP issue.

In that article he mentioned tinymce.  I wasn’t aware that I had tinymce, yet, when I put define(“SCRIPT_DEBUG”,true); in the wp-config.php file and checked with Debugger, this is what I found:

TinyMCE is part of WordPress.

But one of your messages mentions Wp-edit, and that is a plugin that takes over the tinymce wordpress implementation. So try to deactivate that.

As a rule try deactivating ALL non weaver plugin to see if the issue goes away, and if it does reactivate one by one

I didn’t think about deactivating wp-edit since it was one that was recommended to use with weaver xtreme.

I went back and deactivated all the plugins and still no Visual Editor.

But it appears to be a WP problem not a problem with Weaver Xtreme so I should try the WP forum.  If you can think of something else I should try, I will check back.

I had noted by private communication that this issues is almost certainly not a WP, theme, or plugin issue. The failure to get the visual editor is independent of theme or ANY plugin.

The article suggests there is a permission problem behind the failure to load TinyMCE. This is a hosting issue.

Another thing people found is that there might be a PHP version issue – should be 5.4 or later available. Again, a hosting issue.

This issue is 99+% likely to be an issue with your hosting company. They have set up bad permissions, or have in some other way blocked access to the TinyMCE script. Switching hosts would almost certainly fix the issue, but the host should be held accountable and make your site work with WP.

Weaver is correct, it was a hosting issue with the way WordPress was installed.  That has been fixed.
