The Internet Archive at archive.org, a/k/a the Wayback Machine, is an extremely valuable site for recording website history and restoring lost pages and images from disk crashes. I have relied on it for many years, but recently found something distressing.
My web site relies heavily on the menu system provided by Weaver Theme. When archive.org mirrors our site, the top menu is absent. Our home page has a black horizontal nav bar on top, while the one on archive.org does not. I suspected that I misconfigured something.
To check this, I visited a recent cache (March 2025) of the Weaver Theme site on archive.org. Sample:

Interestingly, the internal pages below the home page are still archived and visible on archive.org, such as this one. The problem is, users of archive.org cannot see how to navigate to them, because the menus to reach them are gone.
Is this something that can be fixed? I don’t want the past history of our site (or yours) to be lost because of a menu glitch.
I am not expecting anyone to undo the past collections on archive.org, but am asking how to modify the Weaver Theme so its menus will show up on future collections from the Wayback Machine. Thanks much!

I can see the black menu at the top on the archive site, but only after I close the two add banners that are covering it.
Do you see the adds and tried to close them?
If no ads and no menu, have you tried from different browser and computer?

I don’t think there is anything wrong – just another case of advertising overlay. Clearly, archive.org must have the ads to support themselves. But I saw two different ads at the top of weaver’s page there, and both could be X’ed out. Once that was done, the menu at the top was there again.

Somehow, I didn’t think to cancel out the top ad, since I could clearly see white space between the ad and the top of our menu.
Your answer to cancel the Archive.org menu at the top was absolutely what I needed!! Thanks so much!!
