Thumbnails in Archive Pages?

Hello,

I was wondering if it is possible to display a thumbnail of a photo that is contained within a post on “archive” pages. For example:

http://bdkiron.com/index.php/category/2010-australia-new-zealand/

Each of the posts have at least one photo inserted into it. Is there a way for a thumbnail to be displayed in the posts shown on that archive page?

Why are you not setting that photo as the featured image of each post? That would be displayed with the excerpt.

If you do not want to use the featured image, but want a picture to show in the excerpt, then you need to use the manual excerpt.

WordPress strips automatic excerpts from all HTML, But if you activate manual excerpts at the top of the post editing page in screen options, you can make your own excerpts with an image in them
