The text in the footers of my posts is crossed out.

Hello everyone,
I am experiencing an issue with the footer text in my blog posts. The text appears with a strikethrough, while it displays correctly on static pages.
I don’t understand why this is happening.
If anyone has encountered this kind of problem before or knows how to fix it, I would be very grateful. Any help or suggestions are welcome!

I have checked both these pages on mobile devices and desktop too, and on different browsers on each, and both footers are identical and show no strikethrough text at all.

Can you please re-check from your end, with a new browser which has not been used to access the site ( so it has no site cache there ) and see what you get?

Personally I use a TOR browser for doing that as it checks from another country without the need for a VPN, and it has no cache to mess things up.

First of all, I would like to sincerely thank you for your attempt to help me resolve this issue. Your involvement is greatly appreciated.
To respond to your message, here is what I have already tried without success:
I cleared the caches and temporary files from my browsers, but it did not change anything.
I tested on different browsers (Chrome with DuckDuckGo, Mozilla Firefox, Edge), but the problem persists.
I attempted to use TOR, but I was unable to configure it properly to get a functional display.

However, everything works perfectly when I access the site via my Android smartphone.

As a result, I believe there is indeed an issue with Weaver Xtreme. You can understand that, in my role as a webmaster, it is crucial to ensure smooth access to the blog, especially for senior visitors who may be less familiar with digital tools. This remains an important problem to solve.

I wonder if I am the only one experiencing this difficulty or if other users have reported similar issues. Is there a possible solution or any avenue I could explore?

Please clarify, when you viewed your site from other browsers, were you signed in as Admin at the time, or were you viewing your site as a Visitor?

Please forgive my last non sequitur — I guess you have tested to see what happens with all cache, minify and optimization plugins turned off?

I ask, because no one else has reported such an issue.

May be we are not understanding which part is strikethrough

in the page Le vin de l’Indépendance – ==> Petite histoire du Plateau

Are you speaking of the content in the footer which is composed of three widgets, “gardien du patrimoine”, “Contact”, and “Nous suivre” are all of them strikethrough

Mais be you can post a screen capture of what you are seeing.

On a different subject, you should set the Footer HTML background color to transparent instead of white, to avoid the little white corners beyond the rounded ones

Following up on Scrambler’s comment on the page Le vin de l’Indépendance – ==> Petite histoire du Plateau.

When viewing that page on my phone, I see that the FOOTER contents do not align with the page width or footer container and bleed out over to the right.

Thank you so much for this detailed feedback regarding the display issue on mobile. This is indeed an important point to fix to ensure a good user experience across all devices.
I will examine the responsive behavior of the footer, particularly:

The container width
The CSS properties that manage alignment
The breakpoints defined for mobile display

Thank you for your quick response and your support in resolving this issue. After some testing, it seems that the incorrect display of the footer text is linked to my specific access. Yesterday, at the same time, my co-webmaster based in Montreal had no issues, while I, in France near Avignon, noticed that the footer text was struck through. However, I checked on my Android smartphone, and the text is not struck through there. I will also try your suggestion of using another device to see if the issue persists.

Do you happen to be using a plugin called ‘Broken Link Checker’? It will change broken links to strike-through.

Are you using WPML by any chance? That  can cause issues.

Since only you can see the issue, you might have to figure out how to use Developer Tools to examine the footer text and its associated CSS. Mose browsers have a developer tool that will show an extra window that allows you to view the source of the html and associated CSS. Since this only applies to your site while in France, there is not much we can do to help.

Finally, it does seem fairly unlikely Weaver Xtreme has anything to do with the issue. I would suspect some plugin or another, or if you are using some caching performance site. What we recommend is that you disable each plugin your site uses one by one to see if the issue goes away.

 

I also noticed that the screenshot you provided that has the leave a comment button has an additional area right below it that does not show up when viewing the link you provided.

One other note – somehow the thread on the forum has gotten corrupted, and the whole thing does not have correct layout – the secondary Just getting started? left sidebar is appearing below the comments, and the  comments are not formatted properly. I can’t figure out how that is happening.
