Strange addition to widgets in last couple of weeks

I have searched the forum and haven’t found any reference to this.  Since I last logged onto one of my websites (only in the last couple of weeks) the following has appeared in the title of each of my widgets when I go into customizing widgets: •  

Can anyone tell me why this has appeared?  It isn’t affecting what is appearing on the screen but I am curious as to why it has suddenly appeared.

First without a link to the site there is not much we can do.

Second have you checked in Appearance > Widgets if this is indeed in the title box of the widget?

That is the HTML equivalent of the ASCII code 149 which is a standard round bullet.

That is a “feature”. The bullet should not show on the actual visitor side title. It is a cosmetic highlight used by Weaver II. It was removed from Weaver Xtreme. It is harmless.

It has been there for years, so you apparently just noticed this.

Thanks for your responses.

I have checked in Appearance/Widgets and this does not appear in the Widget title.  However, it does appear when I click on Customize/Widgets and I am sure it wasn’t there previously; and as my widget titles are not preceded by bullets it is very peculiar.

As it isn’t appearing on the site it is not a huge issue but I don’t like things changing like that without understanding the reason.  I can only assume it is something to do with an upgrade to wordpress?

Weaver gave you your answer, and he says it was always there.

Weaver II does not show on the Customize Menu for widgets or anything.

The bullets show only on the Appearance -> Widgets screen before the name of each widget on the right.

This has always been part of Weaver II – nothing has changed.
