ParticipantI guess I’m doing something wrong. But what?
I’ve put a Post Slider with testimonials on the sidebar. But it doesn’t slide. It shows one post and does change the post when you click on another page. But I want to change it automaticly in a few secondes.
The play forward/backword button does not work.
I thought I had the settings allright. But do I miss something?June 5, 2015 at 13:16 UTC - Views: 2 #22473Gillian

Moderatorand where in that page are you supposed to have a slideshow exactly ??
All I se is a show post in the sidebar.
To create a slider, you need two things.
Content and a slider
Content can be either a Filter that selects post, or a slider post that contains a gallery.
Then you create a slider, in there you select what is the source for the content, and it is the Slider shortcode that you insert in your page content to display it

ParticipantOn the right sidebar you see a testimonial:
“wordswordswords”– name, placeUnder “Weaver Slider Post” I’ve made different Post with testimonials from different people.Under “Weaver Post & Slider Options” I wanted to make a Slider from these different Posts, in random order. No pictures. So people can see different testimonials when they are on my page. Is this not the way to do this?Hope I make myself clear. My english is not perfect.Greetings,HeleenJune 5, 2015 at 19:29 UTC - Views: 11 #22477tanteleen
ParticipantEvery Post under Weaver Slider Post I did put in a Slider Group named Testimonials.
I’ve selected this group under Create and Define Filters.Under Define Sliders I’ve selected a slider called Testimonials.Under Widget, Primery Sidebar I put a Text Widget with the words:show_posts post_type=atw_slider_post category_name=uncategorized atw_slider_group=wat-clienten-zeggen orderby=rand show=full hide_bottom_info=true hide_featured_image=true hide_title=true hide_top_info=true]June 5, 2015 at 19:36 UTC - Views: 2 #22478tanteleen
ParticipantUnder Create and Define Filters I’ve made a filter named Testimonials.
There under Slider group I selected the group: “Wat clienten zeggen:”You can still follow me?June 5, 2015 at 21:15 UTC - Views: 2 #22479scrambler
ModeratorTo do what you want you must
Create slider posts and give them all the same group which you seem to have done.
Create a filter that selects this group of slider post, by using the filter option SLider Group
Create a Slider that is set to:
Show slider as posts
Select the FIlter created above in the Slider Filter drop down list
Then what you must insert in the text widget is the shortcode for this Slider, as it appears at the top of the slider page. It will look like
[show_slider name=xxxxxxx]

ModeratorDon’t give up, you are making progress.
You now have a slider inserted, but it only has one post.
This means the error is probably in the filter you created.
I am assuming you created a filter that selects your Slider group “testimonials” in its slider group option box.
If so, check what you have in the Slider basic option box. this is where you can limit the number of posts being used.
You can test your filter by creating a test page, and insert the show-post shortcode of your filter. This should display all the posts selected by the filter in the page

ParticipantThat solved my problem! I changed the number of post to -1.
Thanx for your patience, Scrambler. One more question. How can I change or remove the dots under the testimonials on the sidebar?Do you have more advice/tips for my website?Thank you very much!June 6, 2015 at 17:14 UTC - Views: 2 #22485scrambler
ModeratorThere is an option at the top of the slider “required Options” to select No paging dots.
Also in general slider layout, below Slider height, you probably want to check allow height of the slider check box
