    @Douglerner

    In “Social Networks” > Facebook, fill in your default image for Facebook and Twitter which will be used for all of your site.

    If you want to customize the images for FB, with something different on each post/page, in the tab below the edit panel, in AIOSEO settings > Social > you can select a different image for that post/page.

    All this will be automatically added and updated as ChatGPT suggested.  No need to go into code.

    Also, please make sure you have the Weaver settings set to what you want regarding images and text (excerpt or full).

    Please also read my added text on my last reply regarding all this.

    Regards.

    In “Social Networks” > Facebook I did fill in my default image for FaceBook.

    In AIOSEO settings > Social Networks I don’t see any place to select an image for that post.

    Is there any setting for “always use the preferred image” when sharing a link to a post? I think that’s what ChatGPT was trying to accomplish by changing the code to make sure op:image was part of the head section.

    I got it work by add a small function recommended by ChatGPT into functions.php. It seems to be working everywhere now for all my blog posts: Facebook, Threads, Apple Mail, etc. I deactivated the SEO plugins I tested.

    But I appreciate your help!

    I ended up adding a function to Snippets and it works fine and my preferred image is now showing up everywhere – in Facebook, Threads, Apple Mail, etc. Nothing special needed to set for each post.

    Thanks for your help.

    Adding anything to functions.php will go away on next theme update, but perhaps your other solution won’t have that issue.

    Right. That’s one basic purpose of Snippets – to avoid losing added functions during updates.
