Short Codes Aligned Together

I would like to place a slider using slider short code on the left side of a page with post short codes to the right of the slider.  I placed the code like this
[show_slider name=”home”][show_posts filter=”food”]
but the posts drop down to the next line instead of staying beside the slide.  Is there a way to keep them side by side?

There is a clearing div between the two, If you did not do that, weaver may be doing it. if so change your slider to be 100%, Switch your content editor to text mode, and  change the code to

<div style=”float:left;width:40%;”>[show_slider name=”home”]</div> <div style=”float:left;width:60%;”>[show_posts filter=”food”]</div>
