Something very odd has happened to one of my sites http://www.dogandgroomer.co.uk and I can’t figure it out. A couple of weeks ago I converted it from Weaver II Pro to Xtreme while my customer friend was on holiday. All looked fine.
On her return she has pointed out that the menu item Price List had re-appeared unnoticed by me, when she had asked for it to be removed some while ago. When I checked the menu structure in Appearance / Menus it was exactly as it should be. The Price List item was not there. Moreover the items in the menu which incorrectly shows price list are also in the wrong sequence.I couldn’t see anything obvious so I removed all the menu items and nothing changed on the main menu on the site! I then added them back, plus another page called test which I added to the end of the menu. In the top menu it appears in the middle. The footer menu is taken from the top menu, named Main, using X-Plus menus. It shows the correct menu, in the correct sequence, including the Test item I added at the end! I’m wondering if I missed out a step in the conversion, yet the footer menu shows the correct structure.Any ideas please?!When you change themes in WP (between any themes, actually), WordPress will usually lose track of custom menus as assigned on the Custom Menu admin pages.
You my not have assigned the appropriate custom menu for the new Weaver Xtreme settings.
Weaver Xtreme will display whatever menus you’ve selected from Custom Menus, or use the default page menus (what you get when you don’t have custom menus defined.)
Thanks for the prompt reply which led me to realise that when I did the conversion I forgot to go to the Manage Locations tab on Appearance / Menus and re-assign my menu named Main to the Primary Navigation (not secondary as I said in the title of the query). Now that I’ve done that all is well.
