    Also, I note that at
    WP Admin > Appearance > Theme Options > Post Specifics >Post Title
    I have the Show Comment Bubble box unchecked. Yet the comment bubble shows.

    That is not the same bubble as for the post title, but the one that goes with the actual comment block on the post single page view. There is a separate option for that.

    So many options, I know! But some people want the bubble both places, some only one or the other, and some nowhere – this takes two separate options.
