ParticipantI just want to make sure I understand what you said in your announcement post about saving the settings.
“To take advantage of the new handling of Extended BG Attributes and some other improvements, you should open the Weaver Xtreme options (preferably in the Legacy version) and Save Settings. This will update the generated CSS to the new version. Sorry, there was no way to make this automatic.”Are you referring to the Save/Restore theme settings? I would normally use that both before and after an xtreme upgrade whether or not I’m using any new features. I normally work within the Legacy version.
Is this the “Save Settings” options that you are referring to?

ModeratorNo this is not about the save/restore, this is about just going into any option page and clicking Save Settings.
This forces the theme to resave all the option and therefore refresh any of the old ones that have changes in what they generateDecember 9, 2016 at 01:09 UTC - Views: 1 #31906laura
ParticipantBut does this only relate to people that are using the new features? Do I still need to save all options even though I’m not using any new features?

ModeratorYes because some of the old existing features have been changed (optimized), so to be sure to get the resulting benefits of these changes, it is best to do a save options.

KeymasterNote that Weaver V3 will generate different and faster CSS than Weaver V2. But this CSS is saved only after the site admin saves the current Weaver Settings.
The custom CSS generated by Weaver is created and saved only when settings are saved, and not every time the site is viewed – this is for speed. So if you don’t update the settings, you won’t get the new faster performing CSS.

ModeratorI wished many times there was a way to automate that in the Installation.
Some way to detect the first time the theme is accessed and run a save then…December 9, 2016 at 01:40 UTC - Views: 5 #31910laura
ParticipantI just got a dashboard notification when I applied a new version 3.0.1. in one of my websites. Should I make a new thread or is this because I didn’t save the settings? I lost access to my site.

KeymasterSomething in the version setting script failed, and that critical file was not included in the 3.0.1 upload. OOPS! 3.0.2 will show up after the WP caches are reloaded.

ParticipantI don’t have access to the site, so do I assume I have to try to switch themes temporarily, reinstall Xtreme and upload my settings?
December 9, 2016 at 02:05 UTC - Views: 1 #31913Weaver
KeymasterYou can download the latest version – 3.0.2 – immediately from:
http://weavertheme.com/download/?did=32
if you want to update right now.December 9, 2016 at 02:15 UTC - Views: 2 #31914laura
ParticipantI renamed the weaver Xtreme file to XtremeHOLD using FTP, but the site won’t come back up. I was able to download the link you sent me but it’s in a zip file and I don’t have access to the dashboard. I get an error message when I call the site back up, “The theme directory “weaver-xtreme” does not exist.” It should have defaulted to Weaver ll.

ParticipantI unzipped the file you sent me, and then I used ftp to upload it sucessfully, but when I called the site back up, I got a message saying missing stylesheet on the desktop, but on the ipad it’s totally white.

Moderator3.02 is available through the regular WP update now

ParticipantScrambler, i updated my last comment. The ftp loaded, but I got a different message.

ModeratorDoes not change what I said.
If you have a problem with the file you got, switch to a different theme, delete Xtreme, then reinstall from WordPress where the 3.02 is now availableDecember 9, 2016 at 03:00 UTC - Views: 5 #31919laura
ParticipantScrambler, the site is back up, but I lost my background image and my site wide header widget is now on the bottom, but it’s back up. I actually did remember to save my options right after I reinstalled 3.02, so I don’t know what happened. I was finally able to log into the site screen by keying in wp-login.php.
i just had to fix the background image and move that bottom widget from bottom back the top.
