This forum previously had an indicator when you had read a topic.
That was provided by a 2014 era plugin for bbPress, the WP software supporting this forum. With the switch to WP 7.0, that plugin broke, and I have been unable to figure out a fix. It used dependencies from PHP 6, or 7.1. The new WP 7.0 does not support previous versions of PHP.
There are some reports of issues with legacy sites with WP 7, but that step had to happen sooner or later.
This is such a basic and essential feature of any forum that I am surprised BBpress does not have any feature allowing you to see the posts you have not read yet…..
