    There are options for post columns in the obvious places: Legacy Interface: Main Options : Post Specifics : Post Layout -OR- Customizer: Layout : Post Specific. (sorry – this question was for Weaver II.)

    Can’t really answer your 2nd question without a link to the site in question. Don’t really understand what you are asking.

    The search bar is there because the search widget is included in the page/post top widget area. Open the Widgets Admin page, then click the top area widget area and you should find that widget there.

    The column of posts option on weaver II (pro) does not apply to standard category/archive pages.

    In the new Weaver Xtreme theme it does have that option.

    As you probably know weaver II Pro is end of life and so at one point you may need to switch to the newer generation Xtreme. When you decide to do that  , there is a detailed procedure below

    http://forum.weavertheme.com/discussion/11303/converting-a-weaver-ii-pro-or-aspen-site-to-weaver-xtreme

    So in weaver II pro, you have two solutions.

    – Create your own category page, using a page with posts filtering that category, this will allow the option to apply to it and ALL other blog pages.

    – Use custom CSS to only do that on the archive page, and you can use the info provided in the tutorial below under /* Display posts in any number of columns on any page (variations on Joy’s magazine multicolumn rules. )*/

    http://forum.weavertheme.com/discussion/3486/infos-and-examples-for-custom-css-rules-part5#Item_1

    In your case putting the rule below in Advanced options > Head Section > Custom CSS rule box

    .category-dog-friendly #content article {float:left; width: 48%;  margin-right:2%;}
