Placement of Sidebars

First time user of WordPress and Weaver Xtreme, so please be patient! I’m figuring most of this out but can’t figure out how to get the right sidebar to show up beside my main content on all of my pages. Here is my website. Please help: http://www.hughesrelo.com.

Your sidebar is beside your content, so not sure what you are saying.

Various sidebar layouts are described in the help.

They can be set globally by page type in Main Options > Layout and Sidebar

They can be changed from the global setting on any specific page, using the sidebar layout drop down list found in every page editing page

Beyond that, you need to elaborate.

When I view my site, the contact form is at the bottom right of the content. I would like to see it in the right column, directly beside the content. I have the contact form as a widget in the right sidebar.

This is not what I am seeing. On IE11, Chrome and FF, I have a white content area on the left , and A blue column on the right of that with the

contact form.

If this is not what you are seeing, explain what browser you are using, and test on other browsers and computers.

But if it works on some browsers and not others, it would point to some bad HTML in your content that would break the structure of the [age depending on what browser is trying to figure out the errors.

Good call…it looks OK in Chrome, but not in IE11. I don’t know code, this is a existing website I’m trying to transfer over to this theme. Any idea what I might look for?

Looks fine on my IE11 (as well as other browsers). You don’t happen to have your IE11 set to a comptibility mode, by any chance?

Weaver is probably right, I have no problem in IE11, unless I am in IE7 mode, then I get the sidebar at the bottom right.

Here is what I found: Display intranet site in Compatibility View is checked in Compatibility View Settings. When I uncheck it, it loads correctly. Do you think this will be a problem for people? Not sure why that box was checked and how many people that might affect.

This is a general IE problem – but nothing practical to be done about it. One can only do so much to protect people from themselves.

People who have somehow gotten themselves into IE compatibility mode will be seeing all sorts of incorrectly displayed sites, and probably won’t even know it.

If you are really concerned, try: https://wordpress.org/plugins/advanced-browser-check/

But, in general, I don’t think many sites worry about this issue.
