Page Design Help with a Gallery

Hi,

I’m trying to build, only, my second website, so I am not a real developer by any means, but I do like and want to learn new techniques. The first was with Weaver Pro, and this one will be with Weaver Xtreme Plus.

I would like to do something like the link below – sorry for using a competitor’s theme as an example 🙂

Specifically, the gallery part where it says Our Mission Statement/Meet the Team/Page Titles Go Here/Satisfaction Guaranteed. 

I don’t need the “+” in the image, but I do like the effect if it’s easy to do.

I want to control the size of the thumbnail images, the spacing between them and the text font/size/styling below the image, and it needs to be responsive, of course

I want to have 3 or 4 images with text underneath (not like a simple caption box from the Media Library – though I guess I could CSS/HTML the text, if needed). Clicking the image or the page title in the text below will open up the page. 

What should I use to do this? Jetpack has a gallery option and I also use the Metaslider plugin with my first website. Another plugin? (which I would like to avoid).

Personally, I’ve found the Weaver Show Posts/Sliders modules, setup and language convoluted, but I am open to possibly trying it again. And, maybe you have something in Xtreme that I haven’t yet discovered that will easily do what I want.

I think that I can just hide the page from the menu bar depending on if I want to also have the page available from the menu, or not.

You can use posts and a page with posts, or the showpost shortcode.

Xtreme has a lot of options for how the post / title / Featured image are displayed. One mode is to have the Featured image with title and centered that will give you the Image with the title and the excerpt below it like what I see on your example page.
