I see there is a new version 2.0 of weaver show posts.
As there was no Beta test on it, is it safe to update, was it the full AI rewrite or just a minor thing?
It was a pretty complete re-write. I’m pretty confident it works as always. But now that it has been approved back in, if there are any issues, they will be much easier to fix. the Sliders companion plugin is also being updated.

On my site fncta-midipy.fr there is a slider as header image. The Show slider version 2.0 breaks that and I had to revert immediatly to version 1.7. So, there is an issue in the new version. I hope @weaver fixes this quickly
New version is now available and seems to work 100% again.

Show Posts 2.0.4 seems quite stable now, except saving settings to a file does not work (but apparently no one actually uses that option because it has been broken for some time due to new browser protocols.)
I’ve been trying to get show-posts to work. I thought I had show sliders working, but that will take some time. The olde version was never broken, just needed to meet new security standards (and there has not been any sort of breech or issue discovered – just trying to update to pass the plugin check).
So:

Is @weaver fixing the same proiblem as I’m experiencing with (and this is just one example) https://www.abbeyfieldoxford.org/brian-lewis-house/thames-boat-trip/ ? All my slide shows, on two separate websites (and residing on different hosts), neither of which has been edited in the past 2 weeks, now show slideshow frame contents as solid black, with the vertical dimension going all the way to the bottom of the page. Looking forward to hearing from you. Ray.
that issue was with show sliders, not show posts. I will be updating show sliders this morning. I tried yesterday, but WP’s plugin upload server was down for most of the day.
Show Posts was updated to fix the save settings.
Show Sliders was uploaded after extensive testing. Saving settings sould now work as well.
Thanks for the reports back. I really apologize for the issues. The plugin was blocked for supposed security issues. There was a way that code could be injected, but only bye a logged admin, so it wasn’t very insecure in reality. I felt a bit pressured to get it updated, and didn’t entirely understand how to apply all the options with the WP security tools.
I also did not realize how many users Show Posts has – over 5,000. I do believe it is pretty unique for its purpose.
So sorry about that. A definite case of trying to hurry did not pay off.
