Recently, I’ve noticed the mobile theme isn’t displaying correctly:  Desktop is fine.  Wondered if there were issues after the last update?

Also, when I was deactivating plugins to see if I could find the issue, when I tried to reactivate Cloudflare and WP Retina I got an error message:

<b>Error:</b> Current PHP version does not meet minimum requirements for WP Retina 2x.

When I reduce the browser size, I see the sidebar change when reaching mobile size.

Are you only seeing the issue on an actual mobile device or also on desktop when reducing the browser size?

If only on a mobile device, you may have a mobile mode being activated by a plugin (like Jetpack) that would interfere with Xtreme.

Make sure no plugin is activating its own mobile mode.

Your retina plugin issue should be dealt with the plugin developer

    Hi Scrambler,

    Thanks for your response,

Just the mobile – the text has changed colour, the layout doesn’t include the link back to the homepage and the video isn’t fitting the screen correctly…

Have double-double checked Jetpack and definitely haven’t activated the mobile theme…

Can’t think of another plugin I’ve got activated that would have this setting – any I’m missing??

Also wanted to add that the home page seems to load OK, it’s when a specific post is loaded that the display changes. So all the links from Twitter etc are loading posts displayed incorrectly…

You are going to need to be more specific and answer the questions below

    1. when you reduce your browser size, do you see the menu changing to the mobile menu and the sidebar reorganizing?
    2. On a mobile device do you see the same layout as above, with the hamburger slide open mobile menu and reorganized sidebars? If so your mobile view is working normally.

    Now about:
the text has changed colour, the layout doesn’t include the link back to the homepage and the video isn’t fitting the screen correctly

    3. What text?

    4. What link?

    5. What video?

    6. Do you have the same issues on desktop when you reduce the browser size until the mobile view kicks in?

    7. If not, on what mobile device  do these issue come up

    Hi Scrambler,

The mobile theme opens with just the search at the top of the page, then the post header.  The text is now black instead of white.  The Youtube link at the bottom of the post is showing the video elongated instead of fitting the screen correctly.

Usually, there would be the site image (banner) then site name with link embedded in the title, menu, then search, then post name with text below then Youtube video.

It now seems to be displaying incorrectly when clicking a post link on Twitter and Facebook on mobile only.  The desktop is working fine.

When I open the site directly on the mobile, it’s OK.

    I’m using an iPhone.

When I reduce the size of the desktop it just reduces the size of the site not converting to mobile theme.

When I open the Theme Customiser in WordPress the mobile theme looks fine.

I deactivated the ads inserter plugin and now the mobile theme is working properly when opening directly on the site.  But yeah, the links are still displaying incorrectly when opening a post via Twitter or Facebook.

I am clearly not seeing what you are seeing.

Are you using a cache program, or a service like cloudflare that has a cache?

If so clear the cache  and deactivate that to see if it helps.

Also check if you are using a CSS / Js Optimizer plugin or a plugin that includes a CSS and script optimizer. If you do, Deactivate that as it is known to break things.

If not, deactivate ALL non weaver plugin and caches, and see if the problem goes away. If it does, reactivate one by one and test in between to find the culprit

Found it!  Found two plugins actually: Head, Footer and Post Injections and W3 Total Cache.

Thanks for the advice – appreciated : )
