ParticipantI only have one primary widget. In the last day or so, any drop-down menu item that operates over the widget space has become transparent, and I’m not able to select any menu item in the transparent area. I’ve checked as many settings as I can think of, but nothing is obvious to me (I’m not real good at this stuff!). Not all my pages display the widget sidebar, but those that do are all doing the same thing. My website is:
Any help is greatly appreciated.

KeymasterYou should open the Legacy Options to any Main Options panel, then Save Settings to update your settings and saved style sheet from the old version. I think that will fix things.

ModeratorActually @weaver, His menu does have the z-index:2000 of 3.0.4, BUT there is a rule (below) setting the sub-menu at 90, causing it to be under the text of the Widget area
.is-desktop .menu-primary ul.sub-menu,.is-desktop .menu-primary ul.children{-moz-border-radius:8px;-webkit-border-radius:8px;border-radius:8px;z-index:90;padding-top:6px;padding-bottom:6px;background-color:#EAC6C5;}
.is-desktop .menu-primary ul.mega-menu li{-moz-border-radius:8px;-webkit-border-radius:8px;border-radius:8px;z-index:90;}that sets the z-index of the Sub menus to 90 causing the problem.
I am not sure if this is a Theme Rule or something that would have been added. But given it is at the top of the CSS, I suspect the theme.
I am not sure when it is generated though@KarlCraig If it comes from the theme it is a bug that will be fixed and I will give you a temporary CSS rule to fix it

ParticipantThanks Scrambler. I’m sure I haven’t added code of this type. Funny thing is that I saw the same thing about 3 weeks or so ago, but it seemed to go away, and I never thought any more about it. Then, there it was again last night and today!
I added a new page yesterday, and that’s the only thing I’ve done other than update some media items.
I’d be grateful for any work around, but I’m a nervous nelly when it comes to altering code. The site is still in ‘create’ mode, so I don’t need to rush a fix. Glad there’s someone out there who can ‘see’ the problem! 🙂

KeymasterIt is a bug in the menu rounded corners custom CSS generated code. Will be fixed in 3.0.5 – soon.

ParticipantThanks Weaver, that helped. I had “Rounded Primary Sub-Menus” ticked in my Menus appearance panel. I’ve unticked that, and my problem is solved. I didn’t like the rounded corners anyway, and have had it in mind for several weeks to get rid of them! So, all good for me. The bug, of course, still exists.
I really appreciate everyone’s help. A merry Christmas to you all!

KeymasterWell you helped us find an obscure bug. I’m guessing not many people use the rounded corner menus. It is a bit of an old-fashioned look.
But I appreciate your patience, and the fact you reported your issue(s). You’ve managed to find two problems, one which has been there a long time (the bg color on the editor).
But it will be fixed in 3.0.5.
And Merry Christmas to you, too.

ParticipantGlad to have made a contribution and not just been a pain in the neck. I’m always amazed at how you guys can so quickly identify problems and come up with a solution. It’s all gobbledygook to me! 😀
