Menu items added, not wanted

Just now experimenting with Xtreme. 

• I had defined a main menu
• I did not check the box to “Automatically add new top-level pages to this menu”
• When I created a new page, it appears on the menu bar though it does not appear in the menu structure

To better control you menus, create them in Appearance > Menus using what is called wordpress custom Menus.

there you can also decide which menu is primary or secondary

If you look at your screen shot, you can see that you may have defined the menu, but you haven’t assigned tot a menu theme location. See the bottom “Menu Settings” part.

You have to check one of those theme locations (or use the “Manage Locations”  tab to assign a theme menu location to your menu).
