ParticipantWhen I insert a media gallery in “add media”-function, Im having some troubles.
I can’t get a link on the text below the images. Is that somehow possible?Thank you 🙂February 3, 2016 at 20:59 UTC - Views: 3 #26428Maureen
ParticipantNot sure I understand. Did you want to add a caption to each image? If so, you can edit the images and add the caption from the Media Library or even on the page.
I dont believe that captions link, but you can have the image itself link.February 3, 2016 at 21:10 UTC - Views: 8 #26429scrambler
ModeratorYou can actually use HTML for the image caption so that the captions are links.Edit your image using the media library, and put the html for the link you want in the caption box. something like<a href=”http:\linkurl“>Your caption text</a>February 8, 2016 at 20:29 UTC - Views: 6 #26430Madling
ParticipantOn all the images? If I create a media gallery at a page, only the image(s) have links – not the text below the image.
But if I create a gallery at a post, both the image and text have link.I need to create a gallery at a page and have the image and text link. Is that a possibility?Thank you 🙂February 8, 2016 at 21:32 UTC - Views: 22 #26431scrambler
Moderator“If I create a media gallery at a page, only the image(s) have links – not the text below the image.
But if I create a gallery at a post, both the image and text have link.”I do not understand. Captions never have links unless you created them with one.So when you are saying that gallery at a post have captions that are links, you must be confusing what you call a caption. Please provide a link to a page that shows a gallery in a post where caption would be linked so I can try to understand what you meanFebruary 8, 2016 at 22:24 UTC - Views: 11 #26432Weaver
KeymasterThere should be no difference in a gallery displayed on a Page or a Post, so your question is quite confusing.
- Just to confirm, are you talking about creating a gallery this way: From the Page OR Post editor, you click on the “Add Media” button above the content edit pane.
- From the popup Insert Media, click “Create Gallery”.
- Select image to add
- Click Insert into page
When I do that, I get a standard [gallery ids="1,2,3"] shortcode inserted into the page or post. When I display the page or post, I get a gallery with the selected images displayed. The image will link to what is called the Attachment page, and the caption is displayed under the image. There are no other links on either a page or a post.
The links and content depend on what is defined with each individual image in the Media Library.
So I don’t know what links you are talking about.

ParticipantHello scrambler and weaver
Sorry for the confusion. I will see if I can explain it in a better way 🙂When I create a post, I have an option called gallery in the right side.
The “headline” is called format (in Danish) and right below you can find sound, chat, video and so on.If I choose gallery – Insert Media – choose images. I can manually add links to the text name/image name. How can I do the same at a page, so I can create something like this.
Thank you 🙂

ModeratorI already told you.
You go in your media library, and add the link HTML in the caption of your images.
Then in any page, you can Add media > Create gallery > Select your images, and they will be displayed in a regular WordPress Gallery and their captions will be the links you placed in the caption field of each image
