Make Featuread Image on Pages link to the single post page

In the configuration under “Main Options | Content Areas | Featured Image – Pages” there is an option called “Don’t add link to FI”. Would it be possible to add another option here that says “Make FI link point to Single Post Page” (or something to that effect)? And also to make sure that this would work with [show_posts]?

I use [show_posts] to list the currently active posts on my main page, and it makes more sense to me that the user should be able to click on the featured image to get to the single post view. Of course, inside the single page it should link to the image as before.
