    Hi!

I have the main menu showing on all pages. On posts it is showing only for one category. In all other categories, I do not see the main menu. I do not remember where I set the menu for that one category or if it was a per-post -setting, since I offer the site in various languages?

The site in question is : https://www.psychosomatik.com

    Thanks, Kind regards,

    Mira

We need more specific information. What, exactly, do you mean by “On posts it is showing only for one category.” It is too difficult to try to find what you mean by that. Do you mean if you try to display posts by category? Where/how do you do that – from a menu? From a sidebar? Need a specific link.

Please provide either a very specific link that demonstrates what you mean, or describe a series of clicks to show it. And if possible, please give your examples for the English version as we really aren’t multilingual.

    Hi!

The problem is best shown in the german version. I don’t have that post translated yet.

On all “Team” posts, I have added a menu, but I don’t remember how I did that. So any post on this page: https://www.psychosomatik.com/de/ueber-uns/team/

Specific example: https://www.psychosomatik.com/dr-med-mario-scheib/. This is a post and has the main menu under the Header Picture.

This is the new post I am working on today and that does not show the menu: https://www.psychosomatik.com/post-covid-syndrom-studienteilnehmer-gesucht/

Also, I just noticed that the Russian and arabic version don’t show the main menu at all now.
    (russian: https://www.psychosomatik.com/?lang=ru)
    (arabic: https://www.psychosomatik.com/?lang=ar)

Thank you so much for your help!

    Kind regards,

    Mira

The menu is an extra menu inside the Blog Top widget area.

That area only shows up on blog pages and posts pages, any other type of page would not show that area.

If it does not show up on a specific post page, you probably have the “Hide Blog Top area single view option”  checked in that post Editing page options under the “Post Single page Option” TAB.

    About the post-covid-syntrom-stu… page.

It is being geerated using the single post page view.

There is a menu being included in the HTML, but it is empty – no links being generated.

I’m suspecting a plugin that is interacting with the single post page view. But the Single Post Page view normally uses the standard primary and secondary menus. There might be some interactions with lazy loading.

I think it is time to try the deactivate your other non-Weaver plugins to see if the page view of that post starts to work.

The monster menu is the primary menu with by default all the pages. This happens if there is no custom menu allocated to the primary menu.

To have the proper menu items in that menu, you go to Appearance > menu, create a custom menu with the items you want, then allocate it to your primary menu using the options at the bottom of the page.

But then you would have two menus on your other pages….

As I mentioned before, your original menu is created by a Wvr X-Plus widget placed in the Blog Top Widget area.
I do not know why you did that instead of just using the primary menu, unless you wanted to hide that menu on some pages…
or may be it was because of your translation requirement…

If your menu should be on all pages, then get rid of the Blog Top Widget area, and only use the primary menu. In that case, when you go in appearance > Menu, there should be a menu that was used for the extra menu, Just allocate it to the primary menu

    Also when you said

“I don’t remember having to set the menu for German, English or Swedish. The right menu  just set itself for the respective language, as far as I remember.”

This is most likely why they used a plugin.

there is no tools in XTreme to manage different languages, so if the various languages are made with different pages all under the same theme site, you have to replace the menu on a per page basis.

The plugin probably had a way to manage that more efficiently, but something was not setup right and caused the menu to be missing on some pages.

Ok, thank you so much. So it looks like i have some work to do and set the correct language-menu for each page.

    Thanks for your help!

    Kindest regards,

    Sorry, one last question:

I understand I can chose a menu per page. Is there a similar option for posts?
Since I cannot use one menu on the whole site, how can I ad the menu that now sits on some posts to all posts?

    (post with menu: https://www.psychosomatik.com/dr-med-mario-scheib/

    post without menu: https://www.psychosomatik.com/post-covid-syndrom-studienteilnehmer-gesucht/)

    Thanks,

    kind regards,

    Mira

Well, there is no way to change the menu on posts, and this is most likely why they used a plugin, and placed the menu inside a widget area.

I do not know how the plugin they used worked, so you may want to investigate that.

Or else, another way I can think of to make this work, is using a plugin like Dynamic widgets, which can show or hide widgets on a per page/post basis.

With a plugin like that, you could place all the extra menu widgets for all the supported languages inside an insertion area (like the sitewide page top area), and then use Dynamic widgets to only show the menu of the proper language on any given page.

But again, you may want to investigate how the plugin they were using functions, as it may just be easier to figure out why it was not doing its job on some of your pages….
