I’d like to change the row/column height on my pages. I use either 4/5 column rows on my pages, (up to 2/3 each) and each column contains an image that is 140×40. I’d like to be able to adjust the height of either the entire row block or the individual ones so they’re at 150, which (I think) also reduce the space between the rows.

I’ve looked at the widget settings but nothing seems to stand out and when I’m editing a page, I can’t find a ‘custom css’ for the blocks.

    TIA

Certainly it’s on all of the pages at the site (well except for the main page) Here is a sample one https://ashbynavis.com/a-white-heron/

Yes I looked at those instructions, I’m just sure what widget it would be because it’s in the main body of the page and I don’t really use widgets anymore.

As I’ve researched this, I think I can put CSS in the page location where I already have css to center the page titles using the Xtreme Plus per page options. My question is how do I identify the columns. There are only two rows of columns that I have to work with and they are used in every new page. I’ve a post about “Wvr X-Plus Flex Columns” but i can’t find anything (doesn’t mean it’s not there) that tells me how to identify the columns.

    thanks

Are you speaking about the 8 company logos at the bottom of the page (goggle, barnes and nobles, spotify….)

If so, these appear to be inserted in the page content using a WordPress Block image.

So going to the page editing page with the block editor active should show that block, and hopefully there are options in the block for the number of columns.

If not what you are referring to, please elaborate.

I am in Europe right now, so will have a delay in responding because of the time difference

Scrambler, yes those are the ones. Inside the column, I’ve found the block that is the image, and there’s a place for “Additional CSS class(es)”, but there’s nothing for the individual column block itself in the settings or for the (I guess it’s a div) that holds the various columns.

Europe? If it’s a vacation, sorry for bothering you have fun, if  it’s due to relocation and $ congratulations

Thanks for any help on this

There is something weired with the WP column block, may be you can look for tutorials online.

After I create one with one of the preset like 3 columns, I do not see an option to change the number of column

But if I start deleting column, at one point I see a column number setting on the right, and I can select the number of columns I want.

If you cant make it work with the WordPress column block, then you coud search for another block.

Weaver has widgets that can do that, but with the widget short code plugin being over, inserting a widget in a page content is a bit complicated. You first have to create a Per page widget area, then add the widget to that widget area, then use the widget area shortcode to insert that widget area in your content.

I am not familiar with the WP Column Block, so would like to suggest using a standard WP Table instead.

With a simple Table, you will be able to make the rows cells to the heights you need to hold to, and also adjust paddings and margins and content size to suit your desired widths etc.

Also of course, the cell and table lines can be no-show, so it will look as per your present version.

Finally, tables are responsive, and it seems matters not what you put in them, they still work.

    Just a thought…..

Scrambler, To see the number of columns you have to select the whole column container, it’s tricky finding it with a mouse, then you can get the change column. Unfortunately the tutorials I’ve found all want to claim it’s the theme that controls everything, it’s exhausting…anyway, I’ll keep putzing with it.

User, I’ve pondered using a table, but I’ve worked so long at learning all the new stuff,  I’ve hesitated to do so, since this is more of a, “I’d like it to” rather than a “I have to have it do it” I’ll probably keep messing with the column blocks

I think I may have found somewhat of a solution, I found that since the images are all rectangles of the same dimensions, I can easily put two into each column and it gives me what I’m looking for and can use for my future pages.

Thanks for the input, I appreciate it.

    Understood.

The new solution looks good and organized, and the tighter spacing certainly looks better than the older version.
