Inserting inline code into footer

I’m trying to insert some custom html code into the footer widget in order to enable a form from Constant Contact.  (With apologies for my ignorance), I can’t seem to find a place where I can add the code.  I can add a widget to the footer, but that doesn’t allow me to insert the code.

HTML code can be inserted in a Custom HTML widget.

Drop a custom HTML widget in your footer widget area, then type the HTML in there
