https privacy error on WP backend

Hi folks, I don’t have a SSL certificate for any of my sites (I might one day but that’s another matter).

I sometimes get an error when I update any aspect of the site settings in the WordPress backend, and it redirects me to a privacy error page. I know this means it’s trying to access a function or page using https instead of http, but I am unable to stop this from happening.

My hosting company disabled all plugins and said that this worked, although when I restored only the page editing plugins such as pagebuilder and widget bundles (to make the site not look rubbish) it still sometimes redirected to this error page.

So really I want to disable https. Note this is not happening on the front end of the site, just whilst using WordPress.

I am pretty sure this is not theme related.

I’ve never seen any message like you are getting – and it would be important to know where that message is coming from – is it from a plugin on your site, or is it from the browser itself.

But there is nothing in the theme itself that would cause this issue. You should try deleting other plugins, and then add them back one at a time until you find the culprit.

By the way, I like the look of your site. Well done.
