ParticipantI inherited a wordpress site with the Weaver theme, Weaver 2.2.8
to be exact. There is code for a shopping cart that I cannot remove. In the plugin
area it had Ecwid (which I deleted) and a Store Page (draft) with code:
[ecwid widgets=”productbrowser minicart categories search” grid=”3,3″
list=”10″ table=”20″ default_category_id=”0″ category_view=”grid”
search_view=”grid” minicart_layout=”MiniAttachToProductBrowser” ]Plugins also shows WP eStore, but I cannot access or delete that either.
I have tried everything to eliminate the entire shopping cart from
the theme, but every entry takes me back to the site page. I cannot
access an admin, settings or remove the shopping cart functions. I also cannot add another shopping cart to override what is there.Could someone please direct me with steps to get rid the site of the embedded shopping cart so I can add shopping that I can access?

ModeratorI am confused. On one end you say you deleted the plugin, on the other you say you have no admin access, but you cannot be removing a plugin without having admin access, so you need to elaborate.When you log into the WordPress Admin of the site, in the left menu bar if you go to plugins > Installed plugins you will be able to first Deactivate the plugin(s) in question, then delete them completely.
Once you do that, none of the plugins functionality will work, but you may still have shortcodes in different pages or content areas of the site that will appear as code and do nothing. You will then have to go to each content location and remove the shortcode (pages, Appearance Widgets > Widget Areas …)
If you do not have access to the WordPress Admin of the site, then you cannot do anything. You have to get the credentials to modify a site.
Finally, Weaver 2.2.8 is an extremely old and totally obsolete Theme, So you should redo the site using the latest generation “Weaver Xtreme”.
Staying on Weaver 2.2.8 would not be a good idea, if for anything else, because of the total lack of mobile support which makes the site impractical on the vast majority of internet devices used today.August 11, 2016 at 05:38 UTC - Views: 2 #30200Weaver
KeymasterAnd just to be clear, your issues do not seem to have anything to do with the Theme. They sound admin and plugin related.
Other than advising you that your Weaver version is VERY old, we really don’t normally offer core WordPress help. You should be using the plugin’s help access, and perhaps general WordPress help.
