How do I change the color of the magnifying glass in the search box?

I’ve consulted The Guide & searched all over this forum. And cannot find the answer I am looking for. I would like to change the color, of the magnifying glass, that is in the search box on my website. Will you please send me the CSS so I can do it?

Inspecting the site with the browser developer tools would show you the CSS styling the icon.

From it you can use the same selector with the color property below

.menu-search .search-form:before {color:red;}

I added your CSS to my site and it didn’t change anything. I tried a couple different hex color numbers and they didn’t work, either. What am I doing wrong? Site: https://quilttherapy.com.

The search appears different on your site than mine, yours need

#wrapper .search-form .search-submit {color:red;}
