    Do you mean one background across the text and the appointment button?

    If so set a background in the Header HTML area you used to contain them using the header HTML BG box.

    If you want to change the padding, use the padding boxes for the area

    I want it to cover both the text and button. I put this in #headerlink {background-color: blue} and it made the background color blue but it put it below the header area? John

    Why cant you just follow direction?

    Your text and button HTML has been inserted in Main options > Header > Header HTML > Header HTML content box.

    At the beginning of that header HTML section there are options for background color and for padding.

    Main options > Header > Header HTML > Header HTML BG

    Main options > Header > Header HTML > Padding

    So no need for custom CSS, just use these options to set the background color and padding of that area

    But I want the button in the blue to cover the button also and why is below the header  color??

    Header HTML BG: <input id=”header_html_bgcolor” class=”color {hash:true, adjust:false}” autocomplete=”off” name=”weaverx_settings[header_html_bgcolor]” type=”text” value=”inherit” /> css toggle css <small>Header HTML: Background Color (use CSS+ to specify custom CSS for area)</small>
    <small>Custom CSS styling:</small>  this is where I have it is that no right?? #headerlink {background-color: blue}

    I have no idea what your table above is about…

    You keep saying you want the background across the whole area including text and button, but refuse to do it the way I tell you to, so I don’t know what else to say.

    May be if you would do what I told you to do, you could see if that actually achieves what you are looking for ?

    And if it does not, may be you can explain what is wrong with the result of doing what I said?

    @scrambler
    : Note from Weaver: I think it might possibly be what John is seeing on the Legacy Interface – the literal HTML output instead of the color picker box, which means the installation is broken.

    I put it here as you said Header HTML BG:  in the css box is that not right? It does come in as blue but does not cover the button and is below the header color. I do not know what else to do.

    I never said to put anything in the CSS box

    I said to select the BG color using the Main options > Header > Header HTML > Header HTML BG color picker option.

    I really do not understand I see this

    Header HTML Text Color: <input id=”header_html_color” class=”color {hash:true, adjust:false}” autocomplete=”off” name=”weaverx_settings[header_html_color]” type=”text” value=”inherit” />

    I do not see Header HTML BG color picker option

    I am in here Header HTML

    Is this what I use #headerlink {background-color: blue}

    Come on, John. You’ve been using Weaver Xtreme long enough to figure out these basic options. (or at least recognize how the options are normally displayed if it turns out your installation is broken as suggested in the last paragraph of this reply — When you see an option that says BG Color or Text Color, then there will always be a color picker.)

    There are two ways to find the color picker and padding.

    Use the Legacy Options interface:

    Main Options -> Header -> Header HTML — you will see Header HTML BG as the first option in that section, and the Padding ins the 4th option

    OR, the Customizer, which had the BG color on one menu ( Colors -> Header Area ->  Header HTML Area BG Color as the last option)

    and the Padding on a second menu ( Spacing, Widths, Alignment -> Header Area -> Header HTML Area -> padding options at the bottom of the tab)

    @scrambler
    gave you the correct suggestion. While custom CSS is sometimes necessary, Weaver Xtreme has most of the basic options for almost all elements on the page built in as is the case with the Header HTML area for BG color, padding, alighment, width, and several others. You need to be able to find these basic option using the settings menus. And you should get used to the Customizer as the Legacy will go away in Weaver Xtreme 5.

    If you see the literal output for the Header HTML Area BG option as you described in your last post, then there is something broken on your installation. What you showed looks like the raw HTML output, or something else broken, almost like you have JavaScript disabled. But both the Legacy and Customizer interfaces WILL show a color picker for the Header HTML Area BG color when properly installed:

    Header HTML BG:  css hide Header HTML: Background Color (use CSS+ to specify custom CSS for area)
    Custom CSS styling:

    @scrambler – All I see is an empty bordered area for your last post. The URL for the image gives an error message if I try to enter it directly into the browser.

    Can we move the green button onto the header area (Dan Edwards Investments Schedule an appointment) it is now below the header which is an off white color I would like the text and button over the header like it used to be.

    broken on your installation what if I have a broken installation what can I do? I know I have been using waver for quite a while and never  had these problems before. I support Weaver buy paying for the Weaver plus. John

    If your header HTML area use to be on top of the WHite header image, then you must have had the CSS rule below in the Header HTML BG CSS+ Box

    {position:absolute;}

    But before you go any further, you need to clarify what you see in the Header HTML option section.

    Are you seeing what the screenshot I posted above shows with the color picker box, or are you seeing what you posted with raw HTML instead of a color picker?
