Google Fonts and Weaver Xtreme

Hi all,

At this moment, my frustration is too high, and I might need some help after all. Maybe I’m doing something wrong, but for the past six months, I’ve been having a lot of issues with Google Fonts in combination with Weaver.

In the past, I could easily add and use Google Fonts in various places on the website using ‘Weaver Xtreme Plus Font Control.’ However, this no longer seems to work like it used too. Are there any good instructions available for the latest versions?

I can get it working if I place this part of the Google Font in ‘Head section’

Just curious.  6 months ago did you make any changes to your systems which may help explain what’s going on, like update PHP version, or change cache or optimizing plugins?

@user I use Weaver on about 80 websites. The conditions per installation vary in terms of PHP version and whether caching is enabled or not. If I use an older version of Weaver Extreme Plus like 4.0 it works like a charm, but after 6.2 something changed.

@scrambler Have you tried multiple Google Fonts in one of your installations? I feel like more people should have trouble with the fonts and showing the correct fonts.

Are you trying to define custom google fonts? Quite a while ago – at least a year or two, in response to EU restrictions, Weaver Xtreme switched to self-hosting the Google Fonts that appear in the font options. Self hosting means the font files are hosted on your own site. I don’t remember any conflicts with defining new fonts from Plus, but it is possible there have been changes.
