Formatting text in page

When adding content to a page, I can’t figure out how to get single spacing instead of double spacing.

Also, when I indent a line, it looses the indentation when I display the page.

Formatting content is done with The tools of the content editor. WordPress comes with a minimal toolset, some plugins like WP Edit can provide more.

Single spacing versus double spacing is usually done with SHIFT + ENTER for single spacing and just ENTER for double spacing.

Beyond that, you need to switch the editor to TEXT and work with HTML and CSS to control your own formatting.

Actual formatting of your content is under the control of the WP Editor, and is not really handled by the theme. The theme will control how titles look, fonts used by default, font colors, but this is broad, global format control. Specific things like indentation, line spacing for individual parts of content are handled in the editor – this will be true for all themes.
