    I attempted to add the Table of Contents widget to the footer widget area and I get an error. I can’t delete the error and the footer widget is frozen.

    Any help will be appreciated. Thank you.

    Are you getting an error in WordPress admin, if so what error?

    If in the back end admin, have you tried to log out, then log back in and see if you can access the widget again?

    Also, have you tried editing in both Appearance > Widget, and in the customizer.
