Website is http://www.yourtravelgossip.com/ bottom footer area on all pagesJanuary 4, 2016 at 22:24 UTC - Views: 2 #25618scrambler
ModeratorI am not sure what you did, but Footer widgets will normally be side by side in the footer widget area if you follow the directions belowIf you want 3 widgets side by side, juts drop the 3 widgets in Appearance > Widgets > Footer widget areaThe widgets will automatically have the same width.If not the issue please be more specific about what you are trying to achieveJanuary 5, 2016 at 00:58 UTC - Views: 2 #25619merlojh
ParticipantI put 3 widgets in the site wide widget area and nothing?

ModeratorThis is not the footer widget area, so you need to be precise. The footer widget area will automatically put them side by side.The sitewide widget area will not do that, if this is indeed the widget area you want to use, you will need to use a single widget, and create your three side by side containers inside of it yourself with HTML and CSS.If you want three equally wide widget there, you can use the method explained here:January 5, 2016 at 02:22 UTC - Views: 2 #25621merlojh
Participantthanks for the help I will try that John

ParticipantI got that to work now how do I make the background a solid blue color and the text white? Also do I need to leave the column width at 23%? Thanks for the help John http://www.yourtravelgossip.com/

ModeratorYou misunderstood te tutorial.If you just want 3 equally wide widgets using the column class, do not add any width styling.If you want the background of the widget to be blue and text wide put that in your rule. Beware that the text you have in there right now are links so you need a special rule for changing the color of thatSo instead of.content-3-col-left {width:23%;}use.content-3-col-left {background-color:blue;color:white;}.content-3-col-left a {color:white;}If you want the whole widget area to be blue, you need to put the background rule on the Container, in which case use the rules below#sitewide-bottom-widget-area {background-color:blue;}.content-3-col-left {color:white;}.content-3-col-left a {color:white;}January 5, 2016 at 22:19 UTC - Views: 2 #25624merlojh
ParticipantI am using site wide bottom widget area. I put three text fields in the widget and put the css code in the header area of advanced options and in the main options widgets and all I get is a blue line across the top of the widget area. I left the site as is if you want to take a look. Thanks for the help. http://www.yourtravelgossip.com

ModeratorYou need to add either add a clearing div after your three containers, or add overflow:hidden to the widget area rule so it knows its height, like below
#sitewide-bottom-widget-area {background-color:blue;overflow:hidden;}

ModeratorYou are not paying attention….If you want widgets at the bottom of the whole site (not the content area), then you need to use the footer widget area, just drop 3 widgets in there, no HTML, no custom CSS, and you can style the background in Main Options footer.January 6, 2016 at 05:42 UTC - Views: 4 #25628merlojh
