I don’t want the FI to take over my header in the posts. I vaguely remember this issue having to do with a minimum size. I believe if it passes a certain size it becomes the header, correct? anyway how do i stop it from doing that?

ParticipantCan you provide a url?
In the meantime, please check in Weaver Xtreme Admin > Main Options > Content Areas > Featured Image – Pages > that it is not set to Header Image Replacement.

ModeratorThe same global setting mentioned above also exist at the individual post level in the post editing page, both in the blog page setting and the single post page setting

ParticipantI changed the size of the featured image to w860 and it fixed it. It no longer replaces the header graphic. But the same fix does not work on this page: https://youaresucky.com/dont-be-an-ice-less-chump/
Changed it to 860×860, 640×640 and it still replaces the header.
Also I’m using Weaver Pro 2 because when i switch over to weaver extreme the whole site breaks. It will not display my header, the masonry blog display for the home page does not work and pretty much everything else breaks.

Moderator“Weaver Pro 2”
You should have started with that…
Weaver 2 is completely obsolete (for years), and we can’t test or remember much of it by now.
You really need to upgrade to Xtreme.
Have you read and tried the Conversion procedure below.
Converting a Weaver II (Pro) or Aspen site to Weaver Xtreme – Weaver Xtreme Guide (weavertheme.com)
Eventually clone your site and work on the conversion on the clone so you have time to figure things out with our help

ParticipantOk I went through all of the steps and all of the plugin downloads (it was a lot) and it is looking good now!
I just need to fix a few things:
- How do I make the Featured Image not show up twice in the posts?
- Using my blog as my front page. I had the titles under the thumbnails. How can I switch it back?
- On mobile, it does not show the Mobile layout. It’s showing the full site.
thanks for your help!

Participant- How do I make the Featured Image not show up twice in the posts?
Have you checked your post default template to see if that is loading one of the versions automatically?

In Weaver Options > Main Options > Post Specifics > Featured Image – Posts > in FI Location – Excerpts: select “Banner Above Title”.
Then in: FI Alignment – Excerpts: select image alignment as desired.

How did you create the 2x columns on the home page contents area?

Moderator1- You appear to have inserted the featured image in the post content instead of using the featured image theme function. and this is why it is showing twice.
Two solutions.
- If for some reason you do not want to use the standard featured image feature, and insist on inserting the image in the post content, then you need to turn off the featured image in the theme options globally. Assuming you installed the Xtreme Theme Support plugin (if not you need to), then go to Main options > Post Specifics > Featured Image and hide it in all the appropriate places
- That said Xtreme has a lot of very nice featured image options that you should explore, and so ideally you should remove the featured image you inserted in the post content, and instead use the theme featured image options.
2- Ax explained by @user, and as I mention above, this is where the featured image options come in to play, and why you should remove the featured image you inserted in the post content, and instead use the actual featured image option that let you create the layout you want.
3- If I reduce the browser size, the menu does switch to the Hamburger menu which is the mobile View, the 3 columns Masonry post layout you selected also changes to two columns and the sidebar moves at the bottom, so it is showing the mobile view.
So you need to elaborate on what you mean by it is not showing the mobile layout.

ParticipantOk thanks scrambler and user. I removed the images in the posts and it’s now only displaying the featured image once. How can I have the link go to a custom place instead of a page with the image? I’ve looked everywhere.
2. titles under thumbs in blog page. ✅ thanks
3. For the mobile mode, I see that it actually is changing. What made me think it wasn’t is the header image, the title graphic. I used to have a square version of the title graphic for mobile and I somehow was able to make it show that version on mobile. Can’t seem to find that feature now. A good sign is that it’s showing that “Hey mobile user” widget on mobile. How can I make it show the square graphic on mobile?

ParticipantFeatured Image Custom Link
I don’t think that is a standard WP feature, but it seems you can do it with this plugin: “Add Featured Image Custom Link”
FYI, I have not tried or have any experience with that plugin.

You can change the featured image link in the Post editing page > Xtreme option for this post > Post single page option TAB > Featured Image link
There are many ways you could replace the header image by something different on mobile, but we would need more details of how and where. @user gave you one option to explore which is the WordPress SIte logo and all its related options in Xtreme.
You could also use the Header Image HTML replacement box with two show_if shortcode (look in the add-ons page for detail syntax), one to show the main image on desktop, and one to show the square image on mobile.
If the square image should be placed somewhere else than where the main header image is located, we can use other methods. Again, details of the exact layout wanted would be needed.

Oh wow, didn’t see that! I actually installed the plugin that User suggested and it worked great. (thanks, user) I then deactivated it and tried the built-in feature, but the problem with that is that I’m using the “page with posts” in the main page where I have thumbnail pics. When you click on one in order to check out that page, it goes straight to the affiliate site. I’d rather have them go to the product page so I can “presell” them.
The plugin actually does that; the thumbnail feature image in the front blog page takes you to the page, then the feature image in the page itself takes you to the affiliate link. Just fyi.
For the mobile square header image, yes I want it to replace the main header image since it shrinks on mobile and is not very legible. So I used the HTML replacement box you suggested and it works great:
http://youaresucky.com < go ahead and shrink/stretch the browser window or rotate your phone.
The only thing left as far as I can see is that the front page on mobile used to be just one column so that the feature images can take up the whole width. They are now 2 columns. Any way to get them back to 1 column?
Thanks again for all your help!
