    Hello Guys,

    I’ve got a problem with a site (www.gastouderbureaukindaanhuis.nl)
    After the update to WordPress 4.7 and Weaver Xtreme Plus 2.9.4. the dropdown menu’s (submenu’s) for this site stopped working.
    The menu in question is the mainmenu and not a custom menu.

    Already tried the following:
    – Removing “Placeholders” on the mainpages
    – Use of “Smartmenu’s on/ off”
    – Align the menu left/center/right
    – Menu or submenu doesn’t have a z-index through custom css

    Anyone else having troubles? Or suggestions what too try?

    This is because you have a CSS Rule (below) setting the Z-index to 90.

    Z- Indexes have changed in the last version to accommodate the new fixed on top options for the menus.

    Just remove the Two  z-index:90; properties from your rule below and it should be back to normal

    @media (min-width:768px) {
    .menu-primary ul.sub-menu, .menu-primary ul.children{
    -moz-border-radius:8px;
    -webkit-border-radius:8px;
    border-radius:8px;
    z-index:90;
    padding-top:6px;
    padding-bottom:6px;
    background-color:#FFF;
    }
    .menu-primary ul.mega-menu li{
    -moz-border-radius:8px;
    -webkit-border-radius:8px;border-radius:8px;
    z-index:90;
    }
    }

    If this is not a Custom CSS Rule you created, @weaver will have to check if it is a Theme one that was missed in the correction.

    Then I can give you a temporary rule to override it until a new version fixes it

    There are no rules like that generated by the Weaver Xtreme or Weaver Xtreme Plus.

    As usual thanks for the fast answer @Scrambler.
    I’ve double checked my custom CSS and element CSS in WeaverX.
    And havn’t applied any z-index rules on this site too my knowledge.

    I’d be glad with a temporary rule to override, so that the menu’s would work for the moment.
    I’ve tried too overrule it myself, but probally doing something wrong. (tried 0, auto and initial for the z-index)

    .menu-primary ul.sub-menu, .menu-primary ul.children {z-index:auto !important;}
    .menu-primary ul.mega-menu li {z-index:auto !important;}

    @weaver / Bruce: My custom CSS and only has the following rules

    . category-title-label, .archive-info {display: none !important;}
    . widget ul {color:#B96684;}

    I’ve also checked the weaver “menu” custom css options, but couldn’t find anything there.
    Same goes for HTML insertion or anything else I can think off.

    So unless the weaver update started hiding my custom css rules, Is there anything I might have missed?

    — update —
    When I uncheck the option “Move Primary Menu to Top:”  the navigation menu goes below the header and than the menu works again.
    So its def a z-index issue, like @scrambler said. I just can’t find the lines …

    I’ve saved and downloaded a “Weaver X-Plus Save – All” file, and even in that file I can’t find a z-index value in this file.
    Download through this link.

    @weaver Bruce, I recon if they were custom lines they should be stored in this file too?

    Fixed it quick and dirty with the following custom css lines.

    .menu-primary ul.sub-menu, .menu-primary ul.children {z-index:1000 !important;}
    .menu-primary ul.mega-menu li {z-index:1000 !important;}

    @scrambler are there any change notes that I can read about the z-index changes?

    OK, so I looked deeper, and I found the following.

    If I check rounded corner on menu bar and Sub menu, the theme generates the rule

    @media (min-width:768px) {
    .menu-primary ul.sub-menu, .menu-primary ul.children{
    -moz-border-radius:8px;
    -webkit-border-radius:8px;
    border-radius:8px;
    z-index:2001;
    padding-top:6px;
    padding-bottom:6px;
    background-color:#FFEEBB;
    }
    .menu-primary ul.mega-menu li{
    -moz-border-radius:8px;
    -webkit-border-radius:8px;
    border-radius:8px;
    z-index:2001;
    }
    }

    Which is exactly the same as Morris rule except it has the proper Z-index.

    So @weaver, it does seem his rule with the z-index-90 comes from the theme, I just don’t understand why I don’t have the same value as him (unless it was fixed in the beta version I am using)

    To get the rule, you just need to check rounded corners for both menus and sub menus.

    @Morris, Your rule should be just fine to override for now

    There is no documentation on the Z-index changes

    If I recall, that is indeed a new z-index fix. Will be in 3.0.5.
