DPI for images

Since things have changed so much, what is the best DPI to create and post an image, 300? I work in Photoshop used to save web images at 72 dpi.

Personally, I stopped worrying about all that many years ago when I signed up for free account with the WP Cloudinary plugin at https://wordpress.org/plugins/cloudinary-image-management-and-manipulation-in-the-cloud-cdn/

Irrespective of the size and spec. of the images loaded into the website, Cloudinary will automatically deliver the best and most optimized image (type and size) to the user based on the screen size they are using.

This is more important now than ever, as developers are working only on desktop machines and large monitors, and users are viewing on small phones screens, in either portrait or landscape more.

Do you use Gutenberg? I’m asking because I’m trying to decide what plugins I need to get, the fewer the better. I had Elementor before, but want to use the fewest plugins.

Thanks for asking.  I don’t use Gutenberg or anything to do with blocks.  I don’t do enough to spend time learning it, and what I do in WP.com sites I look after, is copied over from a WP.org setup or site, with which I am familiar.

There should be no conflict with using blocks in the block editor. They can sometimes be easier than using shortcodes which is in many ways the point of blocks.
