Custom Post Info Lines section missing in Weaver Xtreme Plus 7.0

I’m seeing an issue with the Custom Post Info Lines option in Weaver Xtreme Plus 7.0.

On one of my sites, Hattie’s Garden, the top post meta line still displays correctly on all the posts.

Inspecting the page shows this inside the entry-meta div:

When I exported the Weaver WXB from that site, I found the saved settings:

custom_posted_on

custom_posted_on_single

with this value:

Posted on %month% %day%, %year%

However, on another site using Weaver Xtreme Plus 7.0, IMC-Lewes, the top post meta area is now blank. Inspecting the various posts shows:

The empty entry-meta div is still being output under the post title, which leaves a large blank space, but the custom “Posted on…” line is gone.

When I export the Weaver WXB from the affected IMC site and searched the file, custom_posted_on and custom_posted_on_single are not present at all.

Both sites are running Weaver Xtreme Plus 7.0. Both sites are stilling running WP 6.9.4. This issue also  exists on the sandbox site for IMC Lewes. The Post Specifics screen still shows a link labeled “Custom Post Info Lines” in the row of section links, but I cannot find the actual Custom Post Info Lines section or fields anywhere on the page anymore, even by scrolling to the bottom.

This appears to be an issue where the old Custom Post Info Lines setting still works if it already exists in the saved settings, but the UI for viewing or restoring it is no longer available. On the affected site, the setting is missing and I have no way to re-enter it through the Weaver admin screen.

Can you please confirm whether the Custom Post Info Lines section was removed, moved, or accidentally hidden in the Weaver Xtreme Plus 7.0 admin interface? I need to restore the custom top post info line without manually editing the serialized .wxb settings file.

@gr8fl  After checking view-source:https://hattiesgarden.com/ I can see all the ‘breadcrumb’ data is there. but the <script type=”application/ld+json” class=”yoast-schema-graph”> the script that contains it, is not loading.

@user, thanks for checking. I don’t think the Yoast breadcrumb/schema issue is the same thing I’m reporting here. I’m not using visible breadcrumbs on the IMC site, and Hattie’s visible breadcrumb line appears to be working.

The issue I’m reporting is with Weaver’s post meta / Custom Post Info Line output. On the affected IMC site, the post title area is still outputting an empty:

but the custom “Posted on…” line that used to appear there is gone. On Hattie’s Garden, the exported Weaver settings still include custom_posted_on and custom_posted_on_single with the “Posted on %month% %day%, %year%” value. On the affected IMC site, those settings are missing from the exported Weaver settings file.

So I think this is separate from Yoast breadcrumb schema. The visible issue is that Weaver’s entry-meta area is empty sitewide across posts.

I found a partial workaround, but it is not a good replacement for the missing Custom Post Info Lines setting.

The workaround is to uncheck Hide Post Date under:

Main Options → Post Specifics → Post Meta Info Areas

That toggle is in the Post Meta Info Areas section. If I uncheck Hide Post Date, the post date appears again.

However, this is not the same as the old custom post info line. The old working version displayed as a small, plain line like:

The default post date display is much more visually prominent and includes the calendar icon. It does not match the old custom output.

It also creates a practical problem for event-related posts. For example, I may publish a post about a June event much earlier, such as in January. If the default post date is displayed at the top, visitors may mistake that publication date for the event date. I could manually hide the top info line on each individual event post, but that would require remembering to do it every time and is not a reliable long-term workaround.

So the issue remains that the old Custom Post Info Lines setting/output is missing or no longer accessible. The Hide Post Date toggle can make a date appear, but it does not restore the custom “Posted on…” line controlled by custom_posted_on / custom_posted_on_single.

One more detail: in Weaver Xtreme Plus 7.0, the Custom Post Info Lines section still appears as a hyperlink at the top of Main Options → Post Specifics, but the actual section no longer appears anywhere on the page. I scrolled all the way to the bottom, and the last section available is More Post Related Options. So the navigation title is still there, but the link doesn’t work and the Custom Post Info Lines settings themselves appear to have dropped off or become inaccessible in the current interface.

For now, I have applied a temporary workaround on the affected production site. I unchecked Hide Post Date under Main Options → Post Specifics → Post Meta Info Areas so Weaver will output the default post date again. I then added CSS to make that default date line look closer to the old custom “Posted on…” line and to hide the calendar icon on the regular screen view.

This is only a workaround. It does not restore the old Custom Post Info Lines setting, and it still does not solve the larger issue that the Custom Post Info Lines link appears at the top of the Post Specifics page but the actual settings section is no longer available anywhere on the page.

I am also seeing some print-layout side effects from using the default post-date output instead of the old custom line, so I still need the underlying issue resolved if possible.

In another thread, @Weaver has recommended rolling back the plugin to regain the old options.

Please do try that and let us know how it fares.

FYI, Weaver is working on the plugin fix at the moment.

For some reason my user profile @gr8fl is blocked. So I’m here under a different profile that I just created.

I am fine with waiting for @weaver to respond. The temporary fix I have is good enough for now.

I did try to roll back the plug-in but there doesn’t seem to be a version available to do that so if you could point me to where the file is I will do it manually.

PS — I am a little flummoxed by the status of my original Weaver forum account which I’ve had for 14 years. When I log in under that account, I cannot see any forum content at all. I created this new account only so I could reply to my existing support thread, but I would prefer to use my original account if possible.

Could someone please check whether my original account was caught by a spam/moderation filter or accidentally restricted? It now says “Forum Role: Blocked” on my profile and “Blocked” under my profile image on posts I’ve made here.

I don’t know if the new version of Xtreme Plus will fix these or not. All the options seem there and seem to work on the latest versions. But I really don’t have enough description to fully diagnose what is or isn’t going on. So, proide info something like:

I want to do this or that to the Post Info line (Date, Icons, whatever).

I have been using from the classic options interface: Main Options -> Post Specifics – > Post Mete Info Areas (I think that might be what your are talking about?) -> Specific option.

What used to happen, what is happening now.

You might also try Customizr: Where -> Post Specifics -> Meta Info Lines (or which ever)

Thank you. Let me try to state this more clearly.

What I need is to get my custom top post info line back and be able to edit it again. I used to have a custom top post info line that displayed something like:

Posted on %month% %day%, %year%

That gave me a small, plain “Posted on…” line under the post title. If I wanted to change that to 12px, a different font, different wording, etc., I need to be able to access whatever setting controls that custom line.

Right now, I cannot find any way to get to that setting.

On another site where this is still working, Hattie’s Garden, the exported Weaver settings file contains:

On the affected IMC-Lewes site, those settings are missing from the exported .wxb file.

When I inspected the affected page before applying a workaround, Weaver was still outputting the meta container, but it was empty:

So the page had the space for the post info line, but the custom post info line itself was gone.

I did find the regular setting under:

Main Options → Post Specifics → Post Meta Info Areas → Hide Post Date

If I uncheck Hide Post Date, Weaver outputs the default post date again. But that is not the same thing. It uses the standard date/meta output, with the icon/default formatting, and it does not give me the editable custom line I had before.

The confusing part is that under Main Options → Post Specifics, the top navigation row still includes a link labeled “Custom Post Info Lines.” But when I click it or scroll through the page, I do not see that section anywhere. The page ends with More Post Related Options. So the link appears to still be there, but the actual settings section does not appear to be accessible.

So my real question @weaver is: how do I get back to the editable Custom Post Info Lines settings so I can restore or change that top post info line? And why would the custom_posted_on / custom_posted_on_single settings be present in one site’s exported settings file but missing from the affected site’s export?

If there were an easy way to add screenshots here, I would include them, because I have screenshots showing the missing/empty entry-meta output, the working Hattie’s Garden output, and the Post Specifics page where the Custom Post Info Lines link still appears but the section itself does not.

I should also mention that I originally set this up roughly 10 years ago. I have not touched this formatting or the CSS in a very long time, and everything has been stable for years. In the last five years especially, I have been trying to phase out of doing much website work, so this is not something I have been actively changing beyond basic updates.

I also currently do not have an easy way to roll back to a previous version of Weaver Xtreme Plus. I cannot find the prior version in the repository, and the WP Rollback plugin does not work for this plugin. That makes it harder for me to test whether this changed specifically with the latest Xtreme Plus update.

It does look like the “custom post info lines” option is missing while still being referenced in the help File, as located in Post specific > Custom Info line section

@weaver will have to confirm the status of that, if the option will comeback or not.

If not we can try to achieve what you want with custom CSS.

hey there @scrambler! It’s been a long while and hope you are doing well. This is @gr8fl using a different profile since for reasons unknown to me, it has been blocked.

The custom CSS that I am using is a workable solution, but ideally it would be nice not to have it at all.

Was this a Weaver Xtreme Plus option? (I think so…)

I can’t find where it is – I found the actual code – Top Post Info Line, Bottom Post Info Line, etc.

Is it Weaver Xtreme Admin from the dasboard, then Main Options -> Post Specifics -> Cuatom Post Info Lines at the bottom of options?

If so, they are still there, at least with the 7.0.3 version of Weaver Xtreme.

I REALLY REALLY messed up the 7.0.2 release which is so broken it won’t update.
