Centering box div on page

I have a box on my home page for some content.  I added a border so you would see the box.  I want to put that box at 70% or so of my page.  I would like the box to center on the page and not float left.  Whenever I have done this before it has always centered, so I must have something messed up on the theme options I have chosen.  I had added margin, to center on a desktop, but that won’t work for responsiveness.

I have the container setting set on center

The centering property is

margin:0 auto;

add that to your rule
