I recently upgraded to MAMP 3.3. Just before the upgrade, I could see my website. After the upgrade, nothing. I looked in MAMPs htdocs folder where wordpress files should be but it was empty. I decided I had made a mistake in not copying the old htdocs folder to the new MAMP folders. So I thought, well, I do have it backed up. Went to a backup of a 3 months ago, and htdocs was also blank.
So since the files should be somewhere in the backups, what is a unique file, probably part of WeaverX, I can use to do my search.

There is a setting in the MAMP control panel to specify where the files are for a given site. This shouldn’t change from one version of MAMP to the next.
I’m still on 3.0 myself, but my files are contained on the “standard” OS X “Sites” directory, but the can be anywhere.
My setting points to htdocs, but it’s empty and I can’t find the files. Even if they’re not of my hard drive for some reason, I’m sure they’re in one of my backups, hence trying to find a unique file name.
If you don’t have MAMP Pro, it might be worth it. I think one of the features is a full admin interface that make it really easy to set up sites – including the mySQL setup, pseudo-domain names (or even real names mapped via a dynamic dns server). Probably saves hours of setup time over a few months.
