I have 2 sites I’m converting from Aspen to Weaver. The first site converted great (https://cadillacpc.com), I was able to set the width of the site and make it look like it did in Aspen.

Then when I tried the second site, the settings are being ignored, I set it for a width of 1250 but it remains full screen https://biblerealities.com

I’ve way too much time going through the settings and can’t fix it so I’m pretty sure it’s something wrong.

The wrapper Align area option is set to alignwide instead of center.

Can you check what you have in Main Options > Wrapping Areas > Wrapper Area > Align Area.

This is in the legacy admin that you should have if you have installed the Xtreme Theme Support plugin, which you should.

    Now I get this:

WARNING – Your current settings have NOT been saved!
    Your previous settings are unchanged.

Your host seems to be configured to limit how many input form options you are allowed to use with PHP. This is usually controlled by the PHP max_input_vars configuration setting. The current value of 6000 is too small for your current WordPress and Weaver Xtreme installation. It should be increased to 7000 . Until you increase the value, you cannot save your Weaver Xtreme settings using the Legacy Interface. The Customizer will still work, as will the options on the Save/Restore tab. Your site is still functional.

It started at 1000 and every time I increase the number, it tells me this again, I’m up to 10000 now and it still won’t take, now it says go to 11000

Ok so you have a problem saving settings which means a configuration issue, given the error, may be @weaver can help

Have you tried doing the above mentioned setting in the customizer AND in the legacy admin, and do you get the same issue on both?

Also paste here the content of your system Info box found on the help page

Thank you for helping me. This site is not a priority but it would be nice to get it to work.

When I change settings in the customizer I get no errors but any settings I try to do in the xtreme admin area gives me that error.

When I change settings in the customizer they work with no error except when I set the width in the customizer, – Customizing ▸ Global Site Settings Alignment and Spacing Site Width (px) ↻
I get no error but it doesn’t change the site width.

I assume this is what you wanted me to post:

If the customizer work, have you checked the align area option for the wrapper. When the wrapper is aligned “alignwide” it will override width you set.

Customize (WHERE MODE) > Wrapping areas > Wrapper Area > wrapper area alignment and spacing > Align Wrapper Area set to “center”

    @weaver
, any idea why he is getting the variable errors when using the legacy Admin?

This is happening to me on another site. I have hosting with Hostpapa, I have a resellers account and this is happening on all my other accounts. I just updated from Aspen to Weaver on a site I made for my dad and the same thing happened, https://lloydglass.com

WARNING – Your current settings have NOT been saved!

The reason this didn’t happen with my site cadillacpc.com that you helped me with the menu bar shifting is that one is hosted on Blue Host.

So it seems the problem is with my host, but I wouldn’t know how to explain this to them when I call in for help, any suggestions?

When I do the settings you shown, it keeps the content  to a nice size, looks better, but the overall site is still full width. I want to have it work like the other site you helped me with, https://cadillacpc.com

I like to have the background behind the content sometimes.

Now that I see it’s happening on all the accounts on my server I do need to fix this. I have a few customers that I need to upgrade from Aspen, but I can’t until I get the “Xtreme Theme Support” to work.

When an area is wide of full width, it is because the “align area” property for that area is set to “alignwide” or “alignfull”

Inspect the align setting for each area (header, menu, footer…. And change it to “center” is you do not wish to expand that area.

I am not sure I understand what you mean by “I like to have the background behind the content sometimes.”

Each area has background color settings that can either be set to a color or transparent to make what is behind visible.

I don’t know why there is an error for the parameter passing values used by the legacy interface.

The only suspect thing I see are there are two related Aspen theme plugins still active. They should be disabled as it is possible there might be some overlapping but incompatible functionality.

I have a site on another Blue Host that I did the same thing and it worked with the aspen plugins still installed. This problem has to be host related because all my sites on Hostpapa have this same problem but my site on Blue Host works perfect.

Have you tried deactivating all plugins except for the Xtreme theme support?

I just did a clean fresh installation of wordpress in a folder –  biblerealities.com/test
There are no plugins installed, I just installed WordPress, then installed Weaver, then installed the Xtreme Theme Support plugin and I have the same issue. I can pm you the user/pass for that wordpress login, it’s just a test site.

As I stated, this only happens on installs in my reseller account at Hostpapa, when I do this on my Bluehost hosting everything works great, so it is host related, something about my hosting service, something in cpanel, some global setting, it’s way over my head, but this is important, I don’t like any other theme, Weaver is the best of all the themes I’ve ever seen.

Hopefully @weaver can use that to check what is the interference with the Host…

Tech support at Hostpapa upgraded the PHP version from 7.2 to 7.4 and now there are no errors, but I still can’t get the header to follow the width I set, I can’t stop if from being full width.

I set up an account with that email, you should have gotten the email with your account info from wordpress.

Thank you for taking the time.
