ParticipantHi, I have a problem I cannot solve – I have just started using Weaver Xtreme [and will buy Plus this payday], and there is a line to the right and halfway down each page that I cannot get rid off. I’ve only just started building the website, but you can see it here on my ‘contact’ page: http://dominiquewilson.com.au/?page_id=788 What I’d like is for the whole thing to be across the screen, with no lines on the edges on any page whatsoever. How do I do this please?
I also have a couple of layout questions:
1] Is it possible to have both ‘contact’ forms next to each other, perhaps by putting them in tables or some such? I couldn’t see a way of inserting tables, so how could I do this?
2] I really like this writer’s home page: http://www.isabelallende.com/en/home and would love to do something similar. Is it possible to not have a header, but have the name and contents like she has it, in the main body of the page? How would I do this?
I’m really very new at all this, so please explain in great details and simple language.Thank you in advance for your time and advice.

ModeratorYou have a rule
body {border:1px outset #ddd;margin:10px auto;padding:5px;width:1024px;height:768px;color:#999;font-size:108%}
That is messing things up, by fixing the width and the height of the site which makes it totally non responsive.
Did you add that rule, and if so why??
You should not fix the height and width. Fixing the height makes your content overflow below the bordered box. Fixing the width makes it non responsive on smaller screens.
The width of the site should be specified in the Theme option, in main option > Wrapping areas > Wrapper Area > Theme width box.
the border can be set below that with the border option.
If you want to impose a minimum height so that the box is at least a certain height, you need to use a rule with min-height:xxxpx but NOT height:xxxpx
If you did not add that rule, then may be it came from converting a site of choosing a sub theme. Go to main Options > Fonts & Custom > Custom CSS Rule box, if the rule is in there, remove it.
If not there it could eventually be in main option > Wrapping areas > Outside BG CSS+ box.
Once we clear that issue we can move onto the next one

ParticipantThanks for getting back to me so quickly. Yes, there was that, along with a couple of other things in the ‘custom Css’ that I hadn’t added, so removed them all. It solved that problem, so thank you.
Could you help with my other questions as well, please?

Moderator1- you can easily create 2 columns content by using pre styled classes as explained below2- In every page editing page, you have a series of options to hide the different blocks of content. So if you do not want a header or footer on the home page, just hide them with their corresponding options.Do make sure that you have installed the Weaver Xtreme Theme support plugin, as these are part of the support pluginJanuary 19, 2016 at 02:41 UTC - Views: 11 #25956Dominique
ParticipantThanks for that. Yes, I do have the Xtreme theme support plugin.
So are you saying that I can put 2 widgets or columns in my home page, then move the menu/content section into one of those columns or widgets and it will work the same as it does currently at the top of the page under the image, similarly to this site: http://www.isabelallende.com/en/home ?
Also one other problem [sorry!]. on mobile phones, when tapping ‘menu’ on my site, it comes up showing all pages in a list instead of showing them like on the website, where you have menu items with sub-menus under them. For example, on my website on computer, under ‘books’, you can then go to one of 2 books, and from there choose ‘summary’, ‘excerpt’ etc. But on mobile phone, all of these are just on one list so you end up with 2 summaries, 2 excerpts etc, without knowing which belongs to which. How can I fix this so that contents look the same as on the computer? Here’s a pic of how it looks on phones:

Participant^ ok, pic didn’t go through – sorry! but basically it’s just a list of every page, as opposed to menus and sub-menues [as it were] as on a computer…

ModeratorIdeally to make the menus like this, you would need the weaver Xtreme “plus” plugin, which gives you extra menu shortcodes.the extra menu shortcodes allow you to insert different types of menus (horizontal, vertical etc..). anywhere, using a shortcode.Without plus, you would have to find something to make menus or make them yourselfYou can explore the demo site to see menu shortcodes in action )in the menus page) and the other extra features coming with the plus pluginJanuary 19, 2016 at 05:53 UTC #25959Dominique
ParticipantOkay, thank you for you’re help – I appreciate it!

ModeratorFor your second question about the menu on mobile, if I reduce the browser size to phone size, the mobile menu appear to work normally. It slides open when clicking the hamburger icon, and the sub menus open fine.If this is not what you see on your phone, you may be having a different issue. You should test different phones to see if it could be related to the version/browser you are running on it.Do tell us what type of phones / OS version / browser you are having the issue on -
