ParticipantAfter upgrading to 4.4.0.1, I had this message when trying to open the admin of : fncta-midipy.fr
Constant WP_POST_REVISIONS already defined in <b>/datas/vol1/w4a130541/var/www/fncta-midipy.fr/wp-config.php</b> on line <b>112A</b>
and another message, I didn’t had time to note on the top of the sidebar (something about the plugin advanced-recent-posts-widget)
Now, I cannot open the admin anymore, still having the message Constant Wp_post-revisions…
The frontend, being cached, works but I can not do any change on the site, I hope you can help quickly. When not, where can I downgrade the theme ? or must I restore the entire site as it was yesterday ?

ParticipantI upgraded two other sites without issue, so it may concern the advanced-recent posts-widget plugin (which is not being used by the two other sites). Without access to the admin, I cannot downgrade to 4.3.9, or can I with FTP ?.

KeymasterI don’t think that will help. This almost certainly is not related to Weaver Xtreme 4.4.0.1.
The message you provided indicated that the definition of WP_POST_REVISIONS is found in wp-config.php, which is the main WP configuration file found in the root of your site on the host.
The easiest way to fix the problem would be to access your site through your cPanel host interface (or the equivalent found on some hosts). You have some choices:
- Edit the wp-config.php file (via the cPanel file editor) and delete the line with define(‘WP_POST_REVISIONS’, whatever);.
- Delete the directory for the advanced-recent-posts-widgets that should be found in the /wp-content/plugins directory, again, on your host’s directory for your site. That will disable the plugin.
The plugin must have modified your wp-config.php file to have that definition as it is not a standard definition in wp-config.php. What is strange is how this is “all of a sudden” showing up. Perhaps the plugin was autoupdated when Weaver Xtreme was updated.
But I’m pretty certain it has nothing to do with Weaver Xtreme.
But you can get Weaver Xtreme 4.3.9 at: https://weavertheme.com/archive-downloads/

KeymasterFollow up: I opened your site, and noticed there are several error messages being generated by the advanced recent posts plugin. It really seems to be the problem. The messages it shows indicate it is either poorly maintained, or is very out of date. I would recommend finding an alternate, or perhaps using something like Weaver’s Show Posts shortcode inside a text widget.

ParticipantI reverted to 4.3.9 and no more issue, upgraded one more time to 4.4.0.1 and the issue was there. So it is clearly an uncompatibility issue between the recent posts plugin and the last upgrade of weawer xtreme.
So I reverted again to 4.3.9 and will do as you say, replace the plugin with your show post plugin, which I already use on other sites.
The recent posts plugin is in fact 9 years old, but still on the wordpress repository (uploaded 7000 times) It could be interesting to know the cause of the issue with 4.4.0.1October 29, 2020 at 18:36 UTC - Views: 43 #65793Weaver
KeymasterThe only plugin called “Advanced Recent Posts Widget” I could find on the repository is 4 days old with only 100 activations. Is that the same one?
It is hard to search the plugin repository for old plugins as they are normally hidden.

Moderator@weaver, it is the third time the forum tells me there is a new post in that thread and yet there is nothing. This looks like what happens where a post is being help in moderation…

KeymasterI saw the same on this one, and I have no idea why or how to fix that. I suspect an issue with bbPress.

ModeratorCan you see the messages being put in moderation, or do they disappear?
Can you deactivate the option that puts post in moderation when there are links in them? as that seems to be the trigger?
This is where I miss the personal message feature as we could ask him if he tried to post…
